Sayed Kashua

edit

Hello, User:Pruethorner. I'd like to bring to your attention the rewrite with extended information I just did on Sayed Kashua#Biography. The best way to view it is to compare versions. Mainly I was uncomfortable with the speculation that there was a connection between the "Gaza war" and Kashua's extending his planned USA stay. As Wikipedia is an encyclopedia, any such assertion must come from a published source with a reference (whether you quote it or paraphrase). It took me about an hour to look up the dates involved (an article published in the English edition of Haaretz on July 4 therefore written earlier, vs. Israel's "Operation Protective Edge" having started on July 8). Then I looked up and added information and external links about his scheduled work at the two Chicago universities, with their related internal links in Wikipedia. I kept four browser windows open to do this. Also a quick look at the Hebrew WP article shows it has little recent info on the author, so I'll update that too when I can take the time. (I'm reading Kashua's third novel now and can hardly put it down!) I'm not a highly experienced WP editor on literature pages but it's a favorite topic and writing about Israeli authors in the English Wikipedia is one of my highest priorities. So if there's anything you'd like to discuss, write to me here or on my User talk page. -- Cheers, Deborahjay (talk) 19:55, 21 August 2014 (UTC)Reply
