Be careful

Listen mister, do not vandalize other people's work. John Hyams 23:20, 13 December 2006 (UTC)

Please discuss my issue with "your work" on the article talk page. —Psychonaut 23:22, 13 December 2006 (UTC)

db-userreq

Hello Psychonaut, I see you have requested your userpage be deleted, may I please inquire as to why? I can have it deleted for you but I am curious, and somewhat concerned, that something has happened I am unaware of that I may also address for you. Cheers, ✎ Peter M Dodge aka "Wiz" (Talk to Me) (Support Neutrality) 23:39, 13 December 2006 (UTC)

What, you're an admin now? I want the user page deleted because its history contains objectionable and personally identifying statements made by a vandal. —Psychonaut 23:41, 13 December 2006 (UTC)

::Can you identify what diffs? The diffs themselves can be deleted without having to delete the whole page, or the page can be undeleted without the offending diffs. And no, I'm not an admin (at least not as of now) but I keep in contact with many sysops (and crats) on IRC. ✎ Peter M Dodge aka "Wiz" (Talk to Me) (Support Neutrality) 00:18, 14 December 2006 (UTC)

Seem to be okay now I guess, sorry to be a bother :) Let me know if I ever can be of help. Cheers, ✎ Peter M Dodge aka "Wiz" (Talk to Me) (Support Neutrality) 00:51, 14 December 2006 (UTC)

Nice job!

Just wanted to say I thought you conducted yourself very well and maintained your temper in Talk:International Conference to Review the Global Vision of the Holocaust. Kudos to you! Dkostic 02:05, 14 December 2006 (UTC)

Courtesy Warning

Just a courtesy message that I complained about you and other vandals on this board. This is a warning.

Srebrenica massacre

I am glad to see that some more people are getting involved in the Srebrenica massacre article.

While not massively factually incorrect it is marred by a POV selection and presentation of events. Left unchecked, the Bosniak editors active in editing the article (one of who you have already made the acquintance of, aptly named Bosniak) will, and have, turned it into a political issue rather than a historical/current events one. They are quite ready to bully/attack anyone who opposes thir presentation of event. Like you, I have been labelled a "genocide denier", "Serb apologist", "nationalist Serb" and so on.

The copyright issues with the text (of which I believe a lot is a cut and paste job from the icty judgement against Krstic) and the photos (which are probably AP or some other news agency, hardly private or for free) are an additional problem.KarlXII 08:50, 14 December 2006 (UTC)

Double Redirects at Grizzly–polar bear hybrid

Sorry to bother, but I just thought I'd let you know that your moving of this page led to some double redirects. I think I've fixed all of them now but if you can, try and check the "What Links Here" page for any redirects before moving something. Thanks. Jellypuzzle | Talk 16:45, 15 December 2006 (UTC)

The new great game

I moved The new great game to the New great game. If you believe "New Great Game" is a better title, feel free to move it to that. Regards, KazakhPol 01:23, 24 December 2006 (UTC)

This source here[1], reference 3 on the page, calls it the new great game. I will revert to my last version, but if you would like another source to back up that use of the phrase, I am happy to find one. Regards, KazakhPol 18:50, 24 December 2006 (UTC)

Do not vandalize other people's pages

Like you did to mine. John Hyams 17:26, 29 December 2006 (UTC)

Are you talking about your user page? I have never vandalized it. My only edit to your user page was to revert the edit of User:Pancasila, who blanked most of your page and inserted a comment calling you a "fuckface". [2]Psychonaut 17:45, 29 December 2006 (UTC)
Sorry, I have mistaken you with that user. Please accept my apology. Sometimes it is hard to keep track using the page version comparison... Thanks for reverting my page back! John Hyams 23:11, 1 January 2007 (UTC)

deletion of article

I don't understand why you keep interfering with my article about an english youth hostel. It is inoffensive, non-controversial, of considerable interest to many who actually live in these parts, and causes you no discountenance whatsoever. Why do you feel the need to keep sticking your nose in? Davidahearn 13:27, 1 January 2007 (UTC)

The article you created was deleted several months ago because it did not meet Wikipedia's criteria for notability. You recently attempted to recreate an exact copy of the same article twice. Reposting content deleted in accordance with Wikipedia's deletion policies is not permitted. If you disagree with the article's deletion, you may seek an independent deletion review. You could also try posting a new article which assert's the subject's notability with reference to multiple, independent published sources. —Psychonaut 13:35, 1 January 2007 (UTC)
But why do you feel you have to get involved with things that are absolutely nothing to do with you? Why was it upsetting you? Don't you have better things to do with your time? I feel like you have a vendetta against me.Davidahearn 13:52, 1 January 2007 (UTC)
I am involved with this encyclopedia, which is all the justification I need for my participation in the quality control of articles published therein. I don't know who you are and I don't particularly care. I expect that you don't know who I am either, which makes me wonder why you are so sure that I have nothing to do with YHA Saltburn. For all you know I could have worked there. —Psychonaut 13:57, 1 January 2007 (UTC)
You are a tad rude! Happy new year.Davidahearn 14:07, 1 January 2007 (UTC)
That is just the way Psychonaut is. He stalks and harrasses people and then makes up lies about them. But you can't do anything about it because the admins are on his side.--Infomaner 08:39, 2 January 2007 (UTC)
Such a shame - spoils the whole project for everyone.Davidahearn 15:37, 2 January 2007 (UTC)
Hardly a shame. Psychonaut is upholding the standards of the encyclopedia; without people upholding the standards, it would devolve into a chaotic mess. The content you were attempting to include was not up to standard; those are the rules. It is not "rude" to enforce the rules. It is what we as wikipedia editors, do in order to maintain the encyclopedia. Otherwise the wiki is just a glorified whiteboard. OcciMoron 22:46, 1 February 2007 (UTC)

Question about "badJPEG" tag

Hi. I noticed that you tagged Image:Wong Kim Ark sons sigs.jpg with the {{badJPEG}} tag. Did you do this simply because the image is a JPEG, and all JPEG images are discouraged on general principle? Or do you feel there is something specific about this particular image that would show up better in a different format? I would welcome any specific suggestions you might have about this particular image. Please note that I generated this image from photocopies of documents, though, so it's all black-and-white and not of extreme high quality to begin with. I doubt I can do much better in this case, in terms of quality, than what is currently there. Richwales 20:37, 3 January 2007 (UTC)

The JPEG format is designed for images with smooth colour transitions, such as photographs. It is not appropriate for images such as black-and-white scans, as it will introduce visible compression artifacts, and moreover the compression ratio will be very poor. For black-and-white scans, please use PNG instead. Further information should be available from the links on the {{badJPEG}} template. —Psychonaut 11:40, 4 January 2007 (UTC)

Courtesy Warning !

Either stop harrassing and threatening people on wikipedia, or I will request your permanent ban for you. This is my last warning. Okay? Bosniak 22:14, 3 January 2007 (UTC)

I have no idea what you're talking about. Did you confuse me with another user, as User:John Hyams did above? If not, please provide diffs. —Psychonaut 11:38, 4 January 2007 (UTC)

I'm curious

Before copying and pasting the same message on all of the list nominations, did you actually read the nominations? My rationale for suggesting deletion is on every single one of them. "Delete as nominator - originally part of mass nom at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/List of fictional actors. These are indiscriminate lists drawing largely unrelated articles from a wide variety of genres, difficult if not impossible to maintain and will never aproach completeness." Zakusage harassing users again

Instead of moving his so-called "evidence" page where he was instructed to, ZakuSage has put it into User:NotAWeasel's page space. This is doubly insulting since ZakuSage had NotAWeasel banned on false instructions and NAW is unable to defend himself. RunedChozo 23:18, 24 January 2007 (UTC)

Just because I don't have a complete comprehension of the procedures for getting your activity of sockpuppeteering to attention desn't mean I'm harassing anyone. I also didn't get User:NotAWeasel banned. You used that account to harass me and someone else banned that account because of it. - ZakuSage 00:11, 25 January 2007 (UTC)

Actions of RunedChozo

I don't know where else to turn. I noticed you made a comment on Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard/Incidents in this users continued harassment against me and continued vandalism of the sockpuppet report I filed against him. If you take a quick look through his recent contributions you'll see what I mean. Please help me with this, I'm at wits end. - ZakuSage 20:57, 25 January 2007 (UTC)

ZakuSage is just lying again. He started making a mess of redirects after harassing me by recreating his lying "evidence" page in my user space over and over, and when I caught on I fixed my own mistake myself and apologized for it. Now he's going around lying about me to everyone he can. RunedChozo 21:04, 25 January 2007 (UTC)

No such thing happened. Please help me deal with this user, he's now stalking the pages I'm editing to try and maintain his ridiculous lies. - ZakuSage 21:08, 25 January 2007 (UTC)
ZakuSage, stop responding to every comment RunedChozo makes. RunedChozo, stop responding to every comment ZakuSage makes. You're both flooding user pages and the Administrator's Noticeboard with bickering. Such activity will get you both blocked for disrupting the project. Neither or you need to worry about the other erasing evidence; this is a wiki and the history of all contributions is preserved. Just let your report to WP:ANI remain as-is and an administrator will investigate it and take the appropriate action. —Psychonaut 21:52, 25 January 2007 (UTC)
I apologize sincerely for dragging you into this mess. The matter has now been settled, and I will be sure to avoid this user in the future. - ZakuSage

Personal Attacks (not from you)

Hello. I noticed you have put warnings on User:Emir Arven's user page about personal attacks. Please see this, this, this, this, and this for more personal attacks made by this user since you last warned him/her. KingIvan 09:13, 11 February 2007 (UTC)

These were not insults. It was discussion in Bosnin with my friends. So don't lie! Emir Arven 09:42, 11 February 2007 (UTC)
And you Psychonaut, should ask someone to check 58.165.115.192 and compare it with Ivan Kricancic. I don't like sockupuppets or similar behavior. Emir Arven 09:42, 11 February 2007 (UTC)

HAHAHA! OMFG! I gave you that above link to show you that the IP is coming from a different city than I live in! So it's obviously not me. And as for the personal attacks, please apologise for them. KingIvan 09:45, 11 February 2007 (UTC)

So you admit you are sockpuppet! Emir Arven 10:18, 11 February 2007 (UTC)
The only way to find the truth is to ask someone with the Check-User rights. Because you can lie. I will ask you again. Do you agree? Emir Arven 10:20, 11 February 2007 (UTC)

Emir, stop talking to me. You're never going to understand what people are saying to you. Please learn how to speak English properly before "contributing" any more to Wikipedia. KingIvan 10:27, 11 February 2007 (UTC)

So you don't agree, which means that you are a sockpuppet, indeed. Emir Arven 10:27, 11 February 2007 (UTC)

You truly are stupid. You can clearly see the IP is from Brisbane, and I am from Mackay - which is 900km away from Brisbane. You are too stupid to see that your actions on Wikiepdia violate so many of it's policies; primarily, WP:NPA, and WP:NPOV. Also, I just said to stop talking to me, but you couldn't understand that, so I'll ask you again, stop talking to me and learn how to speak English. KingIvan 10:33, 11 February 2007 (UTC)

Don't insult me. You are a sockpuppet! Emir Arven 10:36, 11 February 2007 (UTC)

Can you take a look at this? Opbeith has some questions about this revert. -- Jim Douglas (talk) (contribs) 17:31, 12 February 2007 (UTC)

Psychonaut, as Jim Douglas pointed out above I have been harassed by an anonymous user using different IP addresses but based on Sarajevo. Looking through just the most recent examples it is quite clear that they are all from the same same source (89.146...). Is it at all possible to block the entire source or must each IP address be blocked individiually? The IP addresses in question are:

  • 89.146.156.34 [3]
  • 89.146.133.82 [4]
  • 89.146.148.169 [5]
  • 89.146.128.58 [6]
  • 89.146.136.242 [7]
  • 89.146.145.110 [8][9]

I'd also like to have these two IP's blocked for personal threats (in Swedish):

Regards Osli73 10:38, 16 February 2007 (UTC)

It's possible to block an entire range of IP addresses, though I imagine that would be reserved for cases of extreme vandalism. I suggest that you post the above report to WP:ANI. —Psychonaut 13:35, 16 February 2007 (UTC)

Thank you for the tip. I have done so. Cheers Osli73 15:59, 16 February 2007 (UTC)

Nelogism (Serbian Propaganda)

Hey, Serbian propaganda on wikipedia is inventing wars in Bosnia, take a look at this propaganda article, so called Sarajevo Civil War http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sarajevo_Civil_War . This is ridicolous and should be deleted. It's a nelogism. There was NO civil war in Sarajevo.Bosniak 19:49, 12 February 2007 (UTC)

So nominate it for deletion yourself, then. Why are you telling me about it? —Psychonaut 20:54, 12 February 2007 (UTC)

The use english template

That's exactly what I was looking for; thanks! I was surprised there wasn't one already.

This is the thread that I was concerned about. The attitude is basically "yeah, I was talking about you in a language that you don't understand, but it's none of your business." -- Jim Douglas (talk) (contribs) 21:35, 12 February 2007 (UTC)

Yes, thank you! I'm sure I'll use this template again soon. -- Merope 21:40, 12 February 2007 (UTC)

JARLAXLE is back again...

This time as "CiteSources". Would you mind doing your reverts (hoping you are automated). So, should we put a block on the IP? Maury 18:32, 16 February 2007 (UTC)

No, I don't use automation. I'm not sure if blocking the IP would work, as he's known to use open proxies. Is there any way of checking if this latest spate is coming from the same ISP? —Psychonaut 18:35, 16 February 2007 (UTC)

Ironic, but deadly...

Since the whole edit war due to JARAXLE led to the various file transfer protocols, I've been looking these over. I'm coming to the conclusion that the MODEM7 article doesn't really need to exist on it's own, but could be folded into XMODEM with a single extra paragraph in addition to what's already there. Any complaints? Maury 01:08, 19 February 2007 (UTC)

I don't see the harm of letting it exist on its own. If you really are in favour of a merge, though, I won't oppose it. —Psychonaut 01:32, 19 February 2007 (UTC)

Sorry, can't vote on Sebrenica massacre

I had not read the full artivcel when I edited. My edits are purely to bypass the link for the "Resistance" disambiguation page.

After your request for a vote, I quickly read the article and the talk page. It would take several hours to form an opinion, and I feel the time would be wasted given the endless repetitions of the NPOV arguments. Good luck, though. Perhaps the mediation cabal can help? If not, this will need to go to arbitration. -Arch dude 16:04, 19 February 2007 (UTC)

Yes, it might need to go to mediation or arbitration. However, I'm trying to avoid this by establishing whether there is already a consensus. It's possible that the vast majority of editors already agree upon what to title the section, and that it's only one or two recalcitrant editors who are pushing a contrary point of view. —Psychonaut 16:08, 19 February 2007 (UTC)

R.E - Straw poll on Srebrenica massacre

Hello Psychonaut. I have read your message about the straw poll on the Srebenica massacre article. I'm not sure if it's really my place to take part in the poll, as I'm not an active editor of that article. But, my opinion on the matter is that it it most definitely should say "Alternative views", as it is the most neutral term for the other range of views out there. I'm afraid if I join in the discussion, I'll simply be written off as some sort of "Croatian nationalist" (my background is half Croat), or as a "genocide denier". But thanks for the invitation anyway. KingIvan 06:47, 20 February 2007 (UTC)

I noticed the poll, but it's clear that there's zero possibility of any civilized discussion in that article; I don't have the time or energy to get dragged back into it. BTW, your reformatting of Gardenfli's numbered list messed up her formatting; you might want to fix that. FWIW, I requested semi-protection to slow down the IP user in Sarajevo who repeatedly reverts Osli73's edits while claiming Osli73 is edit-warring and not discussing his edits.-- Jim Douglas (talk) (contribs) 21:25, 20 February 2007 (UTC)

Fresh start proposal for the Srebrenica massacre article

Hi! Given that the Srebrenica massacre article seems doomed to get stuck on endless discussion on details (such as the current unproductive discussion on the peripheral issue of what to call Mackenzie et al.) I've proposed a 'Fresh Start', setting out some basic principles which should help us to make some real progress with the article. Unfortunately, so far no one seems willing to support such an initiative. I would much appreciate if you took a look at it and gave some comments. Regards Osli73 10:21, 21 February 2007 (UTC)

I am trying to right the image wrongs I have committed, but could use a few words of wisdom to help me out. Thank you, YeLLeY511 21:58, 26 February 2007 (UTC)

The best thing to do is to post the exact wording of the permission you were given, and tell us who gave you this permission and whether they officially represent the copyright holders. Then we can decide whether or not the images can be used on Wikipedia, and if so, how to properly tag them. You should probably do this on Wikipedia:Media copyright questions since you have already opened a discussion there. —Psychonaut 22:02, 26 February 2007 (UTC)

I originally wrote an article on here which was deleted because it not written in a neutral tone. The article was on a wrestler. I was advised to rewrite the article before re-posting it. I was wondering If I could put up the stats and finishing moves, while I take time to re-write the article, being that those items are purely informational. I am asking first, as not to risk being blocked again. Thanks. -YeLLeY511 05:15, 5 March 2007 (UTC)

Trying to get stuff undeleted

An editor has asked for a deletion review of Guitar George. Since you closed the deletion discussion for this article or speedy-deleted it, you might want to participate in the deletion review. Guitarminator 12:09, 6 March 2007 (UTC)

JPEG / PNG conversion

Regarding your {badJPEG} tagging, I agree with you, but that image was originally captured in JPEG format and I have no way to reproduce it. I'm always reluctant to convert between formats, but if you think that it's useful to convert the existing image to a different format for wikipedia, feel free to do so.  — JVinocur (talk • contribs) 01:07, 9 March 2007 (UTC)

Your recent edits

Thank you for contributing to Wikipedia. However, your recent edits have made Frettchen rather angry. Please desist from editing in the same manner, or stop editing at all, just to be safe. GracenotesT § 01:46, 11 March 2007 (UTC)

You will notice that an anonymous user blanked the page before you got to it; it didn't have a license or a source when you found it, but it did at one point in time. --Iamunknown 04:29, 13 March 2007 (UTC)

Hi Psychonaut. First of all, thank you for your unbiased consideration of the facts at WP:AN/I. I've tried to help this individual so many times, and wondered whether he is worthy of so much effort an equal amount of times. Though I feel as though he will not be a good contributor, I felt the block was unjust and argued against it on its own merit. However, in light of his most recent comments on his user talk page, I have decided to cease advocating for this user, and apologize for the time you have wasted doing so. --Tractorkingsfan 00:36, 16 March 2007 (UTC)

I was just about to suggest to you myself that you drop this matter, as it doesn't seem to be worth your while any more. Thanks for being so patient with him, though; it was good of you to give him the benefit of the doubt. —Psychonaut 00:40, 16 March 2007 (UTC)

Fascism and Nazism as representative forms of socialism

I am sorry to bother you, but I really need some help. There is an ongoing campaign by a few editors to portray Fascism and Nazism as representative forms of socialism. As part of this effort (a debate that stretches back to 2004), there are a tiny handful of editors who revert and redirect National Socialism to Nazism. I believe a majority of editors support redirecting National Socialism to National Socialism (disambiguation). I realize we just had a poll on the Nazism page where I thought this issue was settled, but apparently the struggle is not over. Please consider voting in the new poll, or adding a comment at: Talk:Nazism#Survey:_redirecting_National_Socialism. Also consider notifying other editors with an interest in this matter. I am doing the best I can, but need assistance. Thanks.--Cberlet 17:08, 16 March 2007 (UTC)

Still interested in your vote, no matter what it is. Need to determine the actual sentiments of the previous voters.--Cberlet 19:50, 20 March 2007 (UTC)

Edwin Cannan

Thank you for the friendly reaction, and for the explanation on my user page. Of course I will assume good faith, and stay within the etiquette. If I manage to dig up some other LSE students of Cannan - may take a couple of weeks mind you, have a job etc. - I can add a sentence, and include Mr. Hardcastle. OK? No problem. I (and countless other editors and readers) would be grateful for such contributions! —Psychonaut 00:24, 18 March 2007 (UTC)

This Is Steven Stone (Stevenstone93)

The only reason why this photo is unlicensed is because I cannot format the template myself. Please understand, I will learn how to format these templates as time goes on. I am continuously having problems of adding templates to such copyrightable photographs and articles. Thanks for your support, Steven Stone

I'm directing him to Wikipedia:Image copyright tags. Since it appears he took the picture, it should be easy to figure out how to make the image allowable. --Tractorkingsfan 23:59, 22 March 2007 (UTC)
Or I guess you're directing him to it. Either way! --Tractorkingsfan 00:26, 23 March 2007 (UTC)
