Welcome to Wikipedia and thank you for your contribution(s). I am glad to see that you are discussing a topic. However, as a general rule, while user talk pages permit a small degree of generalisation, other talk pages such as Wikipedia talk:User access levels are strictly for discussing the topic of their associated main pages and many of them have special instructions on the top. They are not a general discussion forum about unrelated topics. If you have questions or ideas and are not sure where to post them, consider asking at the Teahouse. Thanks. - FlightTime (open channel) 20:58, 5 October 2022 (UTC)Reply

Pseudoscience discretionary sanctions alert

edit

This is a standard message to notify contributors about an administrative ruling in effect. It does not imply that there are any issues with your contributions to date.

You have shown interest in pseudoscience and fringe science. Due to past disruption in this topic area, a more stringent set of rules called discretionary sanctions is in effect. Any administrator may impose sanctions on editors who do not strictly follow Wikipedia's policies, or the page-specific restrictions, when making edits related to the topic.

To opt out of receiving messages like this one, place {{Ds/aware}} on your user talk page and specify in the template the topic areas that you would like to opt out of alerts about. For additional information, please see the guidance on discretionary sanctions and the Arbitration Committee's decision here. If you have any questions, or any doubts regarding what edits are appropriate, you are welcome to discuss them with me or any other editor.

Please confirm: I have been issued ‘discretionary sanction’ notice for attempting to correct the error on the post for Stephen Meyer, characterizing him as practicing ‘pseudoscience’. He is an eminently qualified and recognized scientist.
If it has been determined, that my post was in error, it begs the question: who read my edit to determine my contribution was not true and where is the review posted?
Absent the review, the issuance of the discretionary sanction serves only to chill the conversation.
In the alternative, is the review of my edit yet to be determined? 2600:1006:A014:CBB0:D94E:E13B:AEA8:D0CA (talk) 00:59, 6 October 2022 (UTC)Reply
Please review Wikipedia:Reliable sources, Wikipedia:Biographies of living persons which is the basis of your edit removal and also Wikipedia:Verifiability#Burden which is on you. Cheers, - FlightTime (open channel) 01:09, 6 October 2022 (UTC)Reply

Then for easy access in the future, you can put {{My sandbox}} on your user page. By the way, seeing as you haven't created a user page yet, simply click here to start it.

Please remember to:

  • Always sign your posts on talk pages. You can do this either by clicking on the   button on the edit toolbar or by typing four tildes ~~~~ at the end of your post. This will automatically insert your signature, a link to your talk page, and a timestamp.
  • Leave descriptive edit summaries for your edits. Doing so helps other editors understand what changes you have made and why you made them.
The best way to learn about something is to experience it. Explore, learn, contribute, and don't forget to have some fun!
