I have been to Texas and to Florida, both of which are Southern states. They qualify as being in the South because a) they are part of the southern border of the United States b) they have abnormally and uncomfortably warm climates and c) they were both in the Confederacy. Besides, what are these "articualted views of the South" that you refer to? Bgwwlm 04:12, 11 January 2007 (UTC)

Georgia congressional district maps
editThe ones you removed are still the current district maps - the new maps go into effect at the start of the next Congress in January. Qqqqqq 23:19, 26 December 2006 (UTC)
- I disagree. The districts became official as soon as they were passed by the Georgia State Legislature and were signed by the Governor. The first elections to be affected by this new redistricting process were the elections in the 2006 cycle, which started with the party primaries on June 19. The only significance of January is that the officials elected under the new districting system take office in January. The districts themselves, however, were "official" long before that. --Jhortman 02:24, 27 December 2006 (UTC)
- Well, the current members of the House from Georgia are representing those old districts through next week. In any event, how about if we up the new district maps now? I'm not sure they're out yet, other than those poor-quality ones produced for information purposes by the General Assembly. I suppose the National Atlas will be putting them out soon. Qqqqqq 03:21, 27 December 2006 (UTC)
- Exactly... they're representing the old districts. You're right, though... in a week, it won't matter. There are actually some pretty good-quality current maps in a PDF file at http://www.cviog.uga.edu/Projects/gainfo/gacdmap.htm. Unfortunately, that site is owned by UGA, and is protected by copyright. I agree with you that National Atlas will probably have the new maps up before too long... it might be easiest to wait until they post the maps. (Though it would be pretty cool to make your own district maps... very time-consuming, though.) --Jhortman 03:28, 27 December 2006 (UTC)
- It would probably be too difficult to use those UGA-produced maps, but they're better than nothing. Although I wonder now whether it might not be valuable to have historical maps of these districts -- perhaps including the old maps with a caption indicating that these were the maps used in the 2002 and 2004 elections, and then later we can add the new maps, noting that they will be used in the 2006, 2008, and 2010 elections? For the sake of completeness, that seems like it would be a viable solution. And on another note, what do you think about making a page with a statewide map (again, perhaps after the new maps are entered into National Atlas)? That big red link at the bottom of each district's page cries for some backup. Qqqqqq 03:34, 27 December 2006 (UTC)
- It's funny you should mention that... that's what I requested they do with the files over at Wikimedia Commons, where the files are hosted (that is, I requested they changed the name of the file to "blah blah district, 2002-2005"). I think a statewide map is a great idea, but I'm not sure I'd want to create it. I'm a much better editor than creator. :-) --Jhortman 03:48, 27 December 2006 (UTC)

Import Wikitable from US House Current Members
editExpanding on your idea of another list, how's this: I'd like to import the wikitable someone created for the List of current members of the United States House of Representatives and import it to the Congressional roster of the 110th Congress. The graphics I think make for a better read, although it does extend out the article a bit more. The other option is to link the table from a seperate article to the 110th. I'd also like to create the same wikitable for the U.S. Senators over the next few weeks. They then could be used as a template for future congresses as we move forward. Any strong thoughts either way. No comments I'd interpret as to go forward............ Pmeleski 12:22, 6 January 2007 (UTC)
Joe Lieberman
editIt is almost as if someone responsible for the Senate's online directory saw your Wikipedia conflict about Lieberman's independent status, and corrected the Senate directory with your dispute in mind. :) —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 198.205.32.94 (talk) 17:14, 5 January 2007 (UTC).
World's Smallest Political Quiz userbox
editYou may be interested in User:Audacity/Userboxes/WSPQ, which is a replacement for the old Political Chart userbox. The new userbox takes the two variables (economic and personal freedom), calculates which political alignment they place you into (Statist, Libertarian, Liberal, Centrist, or Conservative), and links your userpage to the appropriate category.

editI used your suggestions and created a new animated map. Doesn't seem like anyone wants to use this one either.

Orphaned fair use image (Image:Yale_Politic_Summer06.jpg)
editThanks for uploading Image:Yale_Politic_Summer06.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable under fair use (see our fair use policy).
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BigDT 02:29, 4 May 2007 (UTC)
Better source request for Image:Yale_Politic_Summer06.jpg
editThanks for uploading Image:Yale_Politic_Summer06.jpg. You provided a source, but it is difficult for other users to examine the copyright status of the image because the source is incomplete. Please consider clarifying the exact source so that the copyright status may be checked more easily. It is best to specify the exact web page where you found the image, rather than only giving the source domain or the URL of the image file itself. Please update the image description with a URL that will be more helpful to other users in determining the copyright status.
If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source in a complete manner. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page or me at my talkpage. Thank you. ♠PMC♠ 20:08, 11 May 2007 (UTC)

Hello Qqqqqq, an automated process has found an image or media file tagged as nonfree media, such as fair use. The image (Image:Trumshild4.jpg) was found at the following location: User:Qqqqqq. This image or media will be removed per statement number 9 of our non-free content policy. The image or media will be replaced with Image:NonFreeImageRemoved.svg , so your formatting of your userpage should be fine. The image that was replaced will not be automatically deleted, but it could be deleted at a later date. Articles using the same image should not be affected by my edits. I ask you to please not re-add the image to your userpage and could consider finding a replacement image licensed under either the Creative Commons or GFDL license or released to the public domain. Thanks for your attention and cooperation. User:Gnome (Bot)-talk 04:43, 19 May 2007 (UTC)
Template:User Realtor
editI'm going to suggest that you stop using the template (maybe even tag it for speedy delete).

NMI Population/Sex Ratio
editWell, the U.S. Census is not as detailed in the territories, and it is pretty much common local knowledge (even for a casual tourist who spend a few days on Saipan) that Chinese (15,000) not employed in the garment industry are but a small minority, and the vast majority of garment workers (very visible around town, on the beach on Sundays) are females. In Micronesia, internet documentation is hard to find! HkCaGu 00:47, 4 August 2007 (UTC)
As readings of both the articles show, the teachings of Creflo are identical to Arius' ideology, which is obviously considered heresy by the church writ large, as noted in the article. I took off the citation tag because that, and because a simple Google search of the two names will find many sites harking about Creflo being a "false prophet" and "heretic" similar to Arius. My point is that it's clear enough (if one were to follow the link to the Arius article) that these teachings are considered heretical. I hope this clarifies things, perhaps I should have been more specific. -DMCer 05:56, 16 August 2007 (UTC)
Posts referencing Arius have been rampant online for quite a while, this is just one example: http://www.onolympus.com/ubbthreads/showflat.php?Cat=0&Number=312401&an=0&page=4
Wikimania in Atlanta!
editHi! I noticed your involvement on U.S. South-related articles, categories and WikiProjects, and I wanted to let you know about a bid we're formulating to get next year's Wikimania held in Atlanta! If you would like to help, be sure to sign your name to the "In Atlanta" section of the Southeast team portion of the bid if you're in town, or to the "Outside Atlanta" section if you still want to help but don't live in the city or the suburbs. If you would like to contribute more, please write on my talk page, the talk page of the bid, or join us at the #wikimania-atlanta IRC chat on freenode.org. Have a great day!
P.S. While this is a template for maximum efficiency, I would appreciate a note on my talk page so I know you got the message, and what you think. This is time-sensitive, so your urgent cooperation is appreciated. :) Mike H. I did "That's hot" first! 08:49, 31 August 2007 (UTC)
Fair use rationale for Image:NS-Flag.png
editImage:NS-Flag.png is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.
Hi. Do you have any plans of expanding this soon? It was tagged with a proposed deletion template for non-notabillity. It would be good to at least describe it and assert why it is notable so that it won't be deleted. We can try and find references as the article improves. Thanks. --Polaron | Talk 23:30, 4 December 2007 (UTC)
