OOK - Where to start?
editHey. I'm eager to help with regards to OOK, but I'm not entirely sure where I should start and where I should contribute. I've read through the main pages but I'm not sure what is appropriate for inclusion in an outline and indeed what is appropriate to make outlines for! Any help would be appreciated... -- QUANTUM ZENO 18:40, 7 July 2009 (UTC)
- The best place to start is with small standard edits to lots of outlines.
- I have just the task for you...
- In the sections listed at User:The Transhumanist/List of country outline government sections, check the "Form of government:" item. If it is empty, see if you can fill it in. The type of government is usually presented in the lead paragraph of Politics of x (where x is the country's name). A link to the "Politics of" article is included at the top of the section.
- I've finished down through the I's. So start at Jamaica and work your way down the list.
- You will find the above task much faster if you use Firefox and Linky. They're both free. Let me know when you have them installed.
- Thank you.
- Good luck.
- Have fun!
I've noticed you've made a start on these. Thank you. Keep up the good work. I can hardly wait to see how quickly you can get these done.
By the way, have you been using the Linky trick? That makes the task a lot easier.
I look forward to your reply on my talk page.
Carabinieri Mediation
editQuantum Zeno, thank you for trying to help with this. We really need a third party view/perspective on this. I will be commenting on the article's talk page, as you requested, some time by the end of this coming weekend. Cheers! Bibiki (talk) 20:07, 9 July 2009 (UTC)
I have made my case regarding the Carabinieri dispute in the article's discussion page. Thanks! Bibiki (talk) 17:06, 15 July 2009 (UTC)
Hello. Can you please let us know whether you intend to go through with you offer to mediate the dispute? No problem if you can't; I'd just like to know so that I can take it to the next level if needed. Cheers! Bibiki (talk) 09:22, 28 July 2009 (UTC)
Hi. fyi, this has been raised at Arbcom. Please let us know if there are user conduct issues that are preventing resolution of this issue. John Vandenberg (chat) 01:20, 3 August 2009 (UTC)
Quantum Zeno, we've just gone live!
editThe country outlines are deorphanized! They're linked in. Each of the country articles now has a link in its "See also" section leading to the corresponding outline.
More people can find them now.
This makes the quality of the outlines of utmost importance. We're under a great deal of pressure to complete these. So we're pushing like mad to get the government sections done, because those are in the worst shape.
We've got to get these done!
Buaidh is almost through filling in the international organization subsections (he's put in a hell of a lot of work on these), and when he's done, he'll be joining Highfields, who has been working on the government branches subsections. When I'm done linking the non-country outlines into the encyclopedia, I'll be joining them.
The "Form of government" (your assignment) is the first item in the government sections, and therefore it is of special importance in the overall development effort.
Please get these done as fast as you can and then join us in fixing the government branches sections (executive, legislative, and judicial) - many of them are in error with the wrong links!
I look forward to seeing what you are capable of.
Welcome to the team. ;)
