editIn general, a person or organization added to a list, as on Graham should have a pre-existing article to establish notability. If you wish to create such an article, please confirm that your subject is notable according to Wikipedia's notability policy. Thank you. Apparition11 Complaints/Mistakes 15:20, 2 May 2010 (UTC)
Speedy deletion nomination of Ornella
editA tag has been placed on Ornella requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a very short article providing little or no context to the reader. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content. You may wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles - see the Article Wizard.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}}
to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. Please do not remove speedy deletion tags from articles you created, as you did with Ornella. If you do not believe the article deserves to be deleted, then please do the following:

Talkback
editMessage added 22:54, 3 May 2010 (UTC). You can remove this notice at any time by removing the {{Talkback}} or {{Tb}} template.
The article Writing Stories has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
- WP:HOWTO, WP:OR
While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{dated prod}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Simon-in-sagamihara (talk) 10:21, 5 May 2010 (UTC)
Articles for deletion nomination of Writing Stories
editI have nominated Writing Stories, an article that you created, for deletion. I do not think that this article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and have explained why at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Writing Stories. Your opinions on the matter are welcome at that same discussion page; also, you are welcome to edit the article to address these concerns. Thank you for your time.
Please contact me if you're unsure why you received this message. Simon-in-sagamihara (talk) 11:04, 5 May 2010 (UTC)
I've copied your question from Talk:Writing Stories here, for your convenience. I'm also copying my reply. UltraExactZZ Said ~ Did 19:03, 5 May 2010 (UTC)
- Why is this article being deleted? There's nothing wrong with it! If you know how it should be done, then do it!!Queenofluckbp91 (talk) 17:47, 5 May 2010 (UTC)
- You'll want to look at the Deletion Debate, found at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Writing Stories. In most cases (including my own), editors have said that this article doesn't fit Wikipedia, because it is an article that tells someone how to do something. The relevant policy is WP:NOTHOW, which speaks to why how-to articles are not permitted. If the article were just about the process or act of writing stories (as opposed to a how-to), then we already cover the subject at both Creative writing and Fiction writing - so it doesn't help to have a third article duplicating content from the other two. IF you still would like to write instructions for someone to write stories, you may wish to contribute at wikihow - where they already have several articles such as How to Write a Short Story, for example. Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute to Wikipedia, at least one of your recent edits, such as the one you made to Edith, did not appear to be constructive and has been reverted or removed. Welcome aboard!
editHi and thanks for taking an interest in Wikipedia. I wanted to talk to you about the article you created, Writing Stories, which is currently nominated for deletion. The problem the user who nominated it for deletion has with it is that it appears to violate a few of our policies, which they unfortunately did not elaborate on in a manner that a new user like yourself could be expected to understand. WP:OR refers to our policy on original research, which is the addition of your own thoughts or observations to Wikipedia. I had a hard time with this concept myself when I first started out here, and a more experienced user explained it to me like this: Our own observations, be they right or wrong, simply do not count for anything on Wikipedia. All of our articles must be verified by reliable sources. If we can't locate those sources, the information can't be posted to Wikipedia. The other issue, WP:HOWTO, refers to a subsection of the policy on what Wikipedia is not. Specifically, it is not a how-to guide or instruction manual. There is another website called wikiHow that does welcome this kind of content. There are a lot of policies, guidelines and so forth here, and it can be a little overwhelming sometimes to a new user, so I hope this experience does not discourage you from wanting to continue to contribute here. Click here to see the five core policies on which all the other rules are based. If you keep those in mind the rest will follow in time. I'm also going to leave you the standard welcome message as it contains many other helpful links.
- Welcome!

Not to be rude or anything, but which policies are you talking about? You must admit that if I know, I will earn and will not do that again.
Yours sincerely
