editWelcome to Wikipedia. Everyone is welcome to contribute to the encyclopedia, but when you add or change content, as you did to the article EBay, please cite a reliable source for the content of your edit. This is particularly important when adding or changing any facts or figures and helps maintain our policy of verifiability. Take a look at Wikipedia:Citing sources for information about how to cite sources and the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Thank you. Dr.K. λogosπraxis 02:43, 30 April 2010 (UTC)
Please do not attack other editors, as you did at User talk:Dr.K.. Comment on content, not on contributors. Personal attacks damage the community and deter users. Please stay cool and keep this in mind while editing. Thank you. Dr.K. λogosπraxis 03:54, 30 April 2010 (UTC)
Please stop your disruptive editing. If you continue to vandalize Wikipedia, as you did at User talk:Dr.K., you may be blocked from editing. Dr.K. λogosπraxis 04:01, 30 April 2010 (UTC)
This is the final warning you will receive regarding your disruptive edits. If you vandalize Wikipedia again, as you did at User talk:Dr.K., you may be blocked from editing without further notice. Dr.K. λogosπraxis 04:02, 30 April 2010 (UTC)
PLEASE NOTE: The above three sequential warnings by Dr. K, culminating in a FINAL WARNING, were submitted on my Talk page over the course of exactly seven (7) minutes. Kindly take that into account in reaching any conclusions regarding their significance. I should have but did not seek an administrator's assistance regarding this obvious harassment. Your current attack on Dr K's talk page
editI've noticed you are currently engaged in vandalism on Dr K's talk page. I would ask you to cease and desist this activity. --Kansas Bear (talk) 04:04, 30 April 2010 (UTC)
ANI
editI have opened a thread about your actions at WP:ANI, specifically here: Wikipedia:Administrators'_noticeboard/Incidents#User:Quintby. Dr.K. λogosπraxis 01:48, 30 May 2010 (UTC)
- Quintby,
- I'm a sysop here. Please do not bother User:Dr.K. anymore, or I will be forced to block your account. I can easily understand someone momentarily losing their cool, which is what I assume happened to you last month. But this latest "all that bad behavior was someone impersonating me" gambit is ridiculous on it's face, and is rapidly losing you the assumption of good faith. (I note that if I actually believed someone has gained access to your account, I would have to block it immediately.) Wikipedia is not for playing games, and if it continues, you will be blocked to prevent further disruption. --Floquenbeam (talk) 02:00, 30 May 2010 (UTC)
- Seriously, leave Dr. K. alone. Any conceivable legitimacy to your complaint (hint: I looked, there was none I could see; you over-reacted to his revert of your unproductive edit to EBay) has been drowned out by your vandalism of his talk page, and your silly games of last night. I've blocked you for 2 days, hopefully to give you a chance to realize that this isn't how this place works. You appear to have quite a bit of disdain for this place, so consider going somewhere else if you feel compelled to treat everything as a battle. The {{unblock}} template is available to you (though I suggest reading WP:Guide to appealing blocks first). --Floquenbeam (talk) 01:54, 2 June 2010 (UTC)
Death of a 'pedia
editYou identified yourself as one of the sysops on Wikipedia in an uninvited comment which you directed towards me. How many sysops are there currently?
You join in on the accusations which refer to me as a 'vandal' and of perpetrating vandalism, along with Dr.K. I dare say that that this Dr.K. is not unknown to you. Please correct me if I'm wrong, hopefully this time unaccompanied by threats to eject me from the editing staff. I regard such threats, however self-important, to be inherently violent towards people, as opposed to vandalism, which is violence directed at things.
Say you that you doubt that I have been ill for an entire month, as if the illness of human beings in your world comes in terms of days, perhaps 7-10 - long enough to get over a minor rhinovirus. Once again you need to broaden your perspective of the world. People can become and remain ill for far longer than a month. The idea that you would appear to attack me for experiencing such illness or for experiencing the effects of aftermath of such illness is cruel, much in the same manner as is cruel towards persons whom one might object to do to their race, religion or their connection with the GLBT community.
To make fun of illness, in particular severe, chronic & undulant illness, is despicable and if this is something you do regularly, putting it in the category of "my dog ate my homework", you must rethink this tendency and if you cannot overcome it, stick to you systems and their operation and do not intervene in the bullying of a non-regular by one of your friends.
Vandalism? As far as I know there is no shortage of storage space on the Wikipedia servers. If you have an accusation to make don't edit it out of existence and deprive older persons or people with acquired or traumatic brain damage the opportunity, not to fight, but to defend themselves from attack by giving them fair access to what you or other editors have wiped away. As I have have discovered it is most easy to attack someone if the substance for the attack is one, not of transparency but of enforced invisibility of the offense.
As it happens I am a doctor in that I hold a doctorate degree granted in California by the largest and possibly still the finest public university in the world. Attaching it to my identity is something I could do but I do not because it cheapens the legitimate personal authority which it affords to me and makes a claim of not necessarily deserved expertise in any and possibly all things, including even Vandals, vandalism and where such things fit into the scheme of things. As far as that scheme, my belief is that while Wikipedia may be the largest encyclopaedia in the world, it is otherwise small by comparison to just about everything else in the Universe.
Since there are doctors about here, even real ones, I' certain that one of them in particular will be quick to identify the medical circumstances I have experienced and experience now that is personified in the name I have chosen. Quintby (talk) 07:31, 14 June 2010 (UTC)
- To answer a few questions:
- There are currently 851 admins.
- I had not run into Dr. K until I noticed his request for help in dealing with you at the WP:ANI thread you were notified of above. This thread can now be found in the ANI archives, here.
- Yes, you vandalized his page. Saying that my calling you on that is "violence" is not going to get you far here, although it is an interesting rhetorical gambit.
- Obviously I never said it isn't possible to be ill for a month, nor did I make fum of your illness. What I said was that when you claimed your account had been impersonated, you were quite obviously not telling the truth.
- If you'd like to discuss your content-related edits, then please use the article's talk page.

- Floquenbeam, then how is it that you know that Dr. K is a "he"? QuintBy (talk) 18:59, 22 February 2012 (UTC)
I noticed that a few of your recent edits seem to include your own opinions about the subject. At Wikipedia, we try hard to only add verifiable facts to articles, and to phrase those facts as neutrally as possible. You might find it useful to review the neutral point of view policy for more information. Thanks! -FisherQueen (talk · contribs) 10:11, 14 June 2010 (UTC)
- I have reviewed a few more of your edits of today, and notice that most of them are related to your vandalism of User:Dr.K.'s talk page some weeks ago. That happened quite a long time ago by Wikipedia's standards; your reputation is not permanently ruined, and you are still welcome to make useful edits. It's not a good idea to spend much time bringing it up- you did it, you won't do it again, and it's over, with nothing more to be done about it. Maybe you could just forget about it and move on? -FisherQueen (talk · contribs) 10:19, 14 June 2010 (UTC)

editHello. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. You may also click on the signature button located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your username or IP address and the time you posted the comment. This information is useful because other editors will be able to tell who said what, and when. Thank you. --SineBot (talk) 19:25, 16 June 2010 (UTC)
