I noticed your comment that you worked for several hours on List of lakes in Michigan, but in the interim, many changes had been made to the article. I just thought I'd let you know about the templates {{inuse}} and {{underconstruction}}, which might be of use to you. :) — LinguistAtLarge • Talk 21:53, 13 March 2009 (UTC)

Help Me/Mary Downing Hahn
edit{{helpme}} The Mary Downing Hahn page has been getting a lot of weird changes to it lately. A few days ago, someone from an IP address, edited that page as well as several author pages by changing facts and figures. Now today there was new odd changes to the page and according to the user's history, that was all that was done. The changes (a 1996 date was changed to 1801 and a 2007 date was changed to 2080 or something) were reverted, but I was wondering what should be done about this. Could the page be on watch more often or should it be semi-protected? I am new to requesting help, so I hope this is right. Anyway, what are some thoughts? Thanks.
- Hi! That's known as vandalism, and is unfortunately common on Wikipedia. However, most of it gets removed within seconds, so this one must have slipped through the net. Wikipedia:Vandalism has some information on there you might like to have a look over. Semi-protection is only done in very bad cases, where there may be several instances of vandalism an hour by anonymous users. I hope this helps, :) Stwalkerster [ talk ] 00:16, 24 March 2009 (UTC)
- Yeah, I know it's vandalism, but I thought I would not say it since I've read some get upset if everything is called vandalism. Thanks for getting back to me. I wish there was more that could be done. Thanks though.Quistisffviii (talk) 00:22, 24 March 2009 (UTC)

Help me with a citation
edit{{helpme}}
I am thinking about greatly improving an article about a voice actor, but my main source is a podcast in which he is interviewed. Is there a way to cite podcasts? Quistisffviii (talk) 04:13, 10 April 2009 (UTC)
- I've never seen a podcast cited, but I guess you could use
{{cite interview}}
. But please make sure that this podcast is a reliable source. Killiondude (talk) 05:21, 10 April 2009 (UTC)

Welcome to the Article Rescue Squadron!
edit
Hi, Quistisffviii, welcome to the Article Rescue Squadron! We are a growing community of Wikipedia editors dedicated to identifying and rescuing articles that have been tagged for deletion. Every day hundreds of articles are deleted, many rightfully so. But many concern notable subjects and are poorly written, ergo fixable and should not be deleted. We try to help these articles quickly improve and address the concerns of why they are proposed for deletion. This covers a lot of ground and your help is appreciated!
If you have any questions, feel free to ask on the talk page, and we will be happy to help you. And once again - Welcome! Ikip (talk) 17:19, 12 April 2009 (UTC) |

Survey
editHi Quistisffvii!
I have put together a survey for female editors of Wikipedia (and related projects) in order to explore, in greater detail, women's experiences and roles within the Wikimedia movement. It'd be wonderful if you could participate!
It's an independent survey, done by me, as a fellow volunteer Wikimedian. It is not being done on behalf of the Wikimedia Foundation. I hope you'll participate!
Just click this link to participate in this survey, via Google!
Any questions or concerns, feel free to email me or stop by my user talk page. Also, feel free to share this any other female Wikimedians you may know. It is in English, but any language Wikimedia participants are encouraged to participate. I appreciate your contributions - to the survey and to Wikipedia! Thank you! This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
