Add topicStation layout diagrams
[edit]Hi NYCDOT, please note that station layout diagrams like you added in this edit have been depreciated and should not be added to articles. Thanks, Pi.1415926535 (talk) 04:49, 21 May 2026 (UTC)
- Got it, sorry. NYCDOT (talk) 18:15, 21 May 2026 (UTC)
- Re your message on my talk page (replying here to keep the conversation in one place). For most stations (like East New York), a cited prose description of the station layout is sufficient. For complex layouts that are difficult to visualize from prose and photos, a plan view and/or RDT can be useful. You can see both of those on Readville station. Username discussion notice
[edit]
Hello, NYCDOT. Concerns have been raised that your username may be incompatible with policy. You can contribute to the discussion about it at the page for requests for comment on usernames. Alternatively, if you agree that your username may be problematic and are willing to change it, it is possible for you to keep your present contributions history under a new name. Simply request a new name at Wikipedia:Changing username following the guidelines on that page, rather than creating a whole new account. Thank you. Left guide (talk) 00:04, 1 June 2026 (UTC)
Any reason your improvements to the page removed any mention of the name being Confederate? Fastfoodfanatic (talk) 16:01, 2 June 2026 (UTC)
- Hi @Fastfoodfanatic -- While that fact is true, I felt it wasn't really relevant to the article. The station is specifically named after the street (which happens to unfortunately be named for a Confederate general), not the Confederate general himself. It's like that Home Alone 2 edit about Trump being the first impeached cast member from the movie. RC1739 (talk) 19:01, 2 June 2026 (UTC)
- I mean, the Ashby and Bankhead MARTA station pages mention it. And there has been news coverage of petitions to rename Van Dorn Street. Fastfoodfanatic (talk) 19:43, 2 June 2026 (UTC)
- Taking a quick look at the pages for Ashby and Bankhead, it appears that there has been coverage by reputable sources about renaming the station after their streets have been renamed already...I haven't been able to find anything similar related to the renaming of Van Dorn Street station, nor has Van Dorn Street itself been renamed. Appreciate your edits + invitation to WikiProject Amusement Parks
[edit]Hello RC1739!
I've seen your numerous contributions to Walt Disney World-related pages, and I would like to invite you to join the Amusement Parks WikiProject, a group of editors dedicated to improving theme park and amusement park-related articles! There's a Disney task force you may be interested it - as it happens, I see you're currently working on the biggest item on its to-do list: improving the Walt Disney World article to GA status.
Thanks for your work on WDW pages, and happy editing! Plighting Engineerd (talk) 17:47, 16 June 2026 (UTC)
- @Plighting Engineerd, hi! I'll put my name on the participants list. I was on the WikiProject page for a little bit last week, and noticed there were efforts to try and revive the project as a whole. Any news on that? RC1739 (talk) 18:28, 16 June 2026 (UTC)
- Amazing, I'm glad you joined! Welcome!
- Yep, there are tons of things going on to work on reviving the project. I restarted the project's newsletter (the upcoming issue of which you have a mention on), and lots of editors have joined in to help, there's a draft for a main page refresh underway, and there's a big discussion about other things in the future. There's been a great influx of activity lately! Plighting Engineerd (talk) 19:28, 16 June 2026 (UTC)
