Shooting thaler

edit

Hi RHM,

I am impressed by the contributions you have been making to numismatics-related articles on Wikipedia. I was reading the Shooting thaler article and noticed that the 19th-century thalers are each provided an individual section with an image and various statistics, but the 20th- and 21st-century thalers are simply given entries in a table without as much information and with no image. Why is this the case? Would it be possible to further develop the article so that all of the thalers are treated equally?

Hi, Neelix! Thank you for the kind note. I'm not active in the collecting of shooting thalers at the moment, but at the time of my writing the article, there was very little information available pertaining to the later issues. Most collectors focus solely on the nineteenth century coins, so there's not much in the way of references regarding those produced in modern times. I had four books that contained information on these coins (one of which I no longer own), and only two even made mention of the twentieth and twenty-first century ones, and even then, only mintage numbers and coinage metal were supplied, unfortunately. I'll take a look on the internet to see if any new information has been made available, as I agree that it would be a very useful addition to the article. Thank you again for the note and suggestion. -RHM22 (talk) 19:18, 23 April 2014 (UTC)Reply

Thank you! It's much appreciated, although I've been a bit too busy to offer much lately.-RHM22 (talk) 13:20, 28 May 2014 (UTC)Reply
Thank you for your thoughts about the TFA today, - looking at some of the comments you wouldnt think it's on a book ;) - Raul: I don't buy myths about him driven away: this looks like a reasonable comment about succession to me, this amused, and this merry. In what later looked like a statement of tiredness or retiring he just said that he could use his time better. All this has nothing to do with today's questions, imo, --Gerda Arendt (talk) 16:39, 15 December 2014 (UTC)Reply
Thanks for your reply. Adding: the design of the prize named after the "former arb ..." is by my friend called sockmaster who left all this and was highly amused when they banned him afterwards ;) - We miss him. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 18:32, 15 December 2014 (UTC)Reply

Hello, and thank you for the kind note. I'm no longer as active here as I'd like to be due to time constraints, but the lack of coverage of IS on the main page needs to be addressed. It's perhaps overlooked at times, but those of you who contribute to ITN regularly do some very good work in what are often the most contentious areas of this entire website.-RHM22 (talk) 03:43, 3 September 2014 (UTC)Reply
