License tagging for Image:Enery.JPG

Thanks for uploading Image:Enery.JPG. Wikipedia gets hundreds of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

AfD Nomination Anthroid

edit

I've nominated the article Anthroid for deletion under the Articles for deletion process. We appreciate your contributions, but in this particular case I do not feel that Anthroid satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion. I have explained why in the nomination space (see What Wikipedia is not and Deletion policy). Your opinions on the matter are welcome; please participate in the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Anthroid. Don't forget to add four tildes (˜˜˜˜) at the end of each of your comments to sign them. You are free to edit the content of Anthroid during the discussion, but please do not remove the "Articles for Deletion" template (the box at the top). Doing so will not end the discussion. --Zoz (t) 21:12, 4 June 2006 (UTC)Reply

Extinctioners article

edit

Hey there. Would you be opposed to my doing a major edit job on this article? I'm trying my best to find a way to save it from the AfD process, but the fact that most of the 'keep' opinions are from new or relatively new users is likely to play against it. I really think it needs to be pared down quite a lot - as one of the other people mentioned, cutting it down to a couple of pictures and removing all the detail about the characters would probably make it a lot more viable. If you're okay with it, I can give that a shot this afternoon and hopefully make it a bit safer. Let me know. Tony Fox 15:57, 7 June 2006 (UTC)Reply

Thanks. I agree the article looked good with all the images, but if you compare it with other comics, like the Albedo article - a comic with a longer history than Extinctioners but similarities in publishing and market - it was just really overwhelming, I think. I'll do my best with it tonight. Cheers. Tony Fox 16:40, 7 June 2006 (UTC)Reply

Hey - checked out the WikiFur article - it looks pretty sharp. I like the breakouts for all the separate characters - it's nice that it can be expanded there. That's good stuff. The AfD is still ongoing, but I don't know whether a consensus has been reached at all - I think it's going to be fairly close to a no-consensus keep, but it will come down to the closing administrator's decision, and hopefully the reduced version will be okay. Really, the folks who started this are doing it for the best of the Wiki... it's amazing how minute the things that people think are important can be, and how much of a stress it can be to get rid of them. If they were to keep everything, it'd be a total mess. Extinctioners should probably qualify, but it really depends on the community consensus - we'll see. Tony Fox 02:35, 13 June 2006 (UTC)Reply

Let's not do anything too extensive to the article just now. I think some viewers will consider this version to be still too long, and if we started adding anything else in before the deletion debate closes, it could swing the final decision. (I'm surprised the debate hasn't closed, to be honest, but sometimes it takes a couple of extra days before an admin gets there.)Tony Fox 15:20, 13 June 2006 (UTC)Reply
And it just closed as a no-consensus, which is basically a default keep. The thing is, it's likely to be tagged again in the future and the process will happen again, so major changes are definitely not advisable. Like I said when I did the rewrite, I think the main thing is to have an article here that will give people an idea of what the book is about, and if they want more, they can go to the WikiFur article for the big details. I think that's where it's at right now, anyhow... Tony Fox 16:17, 13 June 2006 (UTC)Reply

Orphaned fair use image (Image:Profile uriko.jpg)

edit

This media may be deleted.

Thanks for uploading Image:Profile uriko.jpg. I notice the 'image' page currently specifies that the image can be used under a fair use license. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. —Bkell (talk) 00:51, 30 June 2006 (UTC)Reply
