Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, we would like to remind you not to attack other editors, as you did on Talk:Veal. Please comment on the contributions and not the contributors. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Thank you. You clearly have strong feelings on this issue, but please remember to be civil and stay cool even when someone else doesn't seem to be. --Icarus (Hi!) 19:09, 15 June 2008 (UTC)Reply

Please do not add content without citing reliable sources, as you did to Electoral College (United States). Before making potentially controversial edits, it is recommended that you discuss them first on the article's talk page. If you are familiar with Wikipedia:Citing sources please take this opportunity to add references to the article. Thank you. SMP0328. (talk) 00:54, 4 November 2008 (UTC)Reply

RE: Pope advises Catholics, not Italians

edit

Several references to the Pope "advising Italians" of anything are inaccurate: The Pope does not advise Italians to do or not do anything: The Pope advises _Catholics_ as to whether they should see a show or whatnot. At least one cited reference states this though for some reason it was changed to Italians. In fact, the Pope at the time was not even Italian, he was Polish.— Preceding unsigned comment added by Radzewicz (talkcontribs)

I wonder if you could tell us exactly which part of the article discusses the Pope advising Italians. I don't seem to be able to find it. Ward3001 (talk) 04:54, 19 April 2009 (UTC)Reply

Apologies, it was in two places and I made the change to Catholics, I should have then gone back and said so. Radzewicz (talk) 05:21, 19 April 2009 (UTC)Reply

Hi there. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. If you can't type the tilde character, you should click on the signature button   located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your name and the time you posted the comment. This information is useful because other editors will be able to tell who said what, and when. Thank you! --SineBot (talk) 05:25, 19 April 2009 (UTC)Reply

WARNING!

You wrote: [I tried to add some balance, though I haven't included specific dishes. Some pictures of food would be nice.

Pictures smictures. I was looking for the best and proper ways to cook veal, of which this article is woefully deficient. Instead of a vegatarian's guide to why crackpots should hate veal production, how about a mature, intellegent guide to preparing, serving, and eating one of the worlds oldest meats? Its for reasons like this that many Wiki pages have become gutless imitations of propaganda blogs. Radzewicz (talk) 16:43, 15 June 2008 (UTC)]Reply

Producing veal involves cruel methods of killing young calves. Calves are tortured and are subjected to agonizing pain throughout their short life. Meat eaters do not realize that killing calves (or any animal, for that matter) in itself is totally inhumane.

Veal producers and veal eaters are blissfully unaware of the hellish punishments that await them after their death. Meat eaters do not realize that killing calves (or any animal, for that matter) in itself is totally inhumane (read: blatantly cruel) and sinful. The Vedic scriptures warn us that killing cows (and bulls and calves) is extremely sinful. It may be too late for ruthless cow and calf murderers unless they stop right now and beg forgiveness from God and repent seriously.—Dr. Simon Landers, Director of the Department of Theology

I am sorry if it sounded harsh and unpleasant, but please think very deeply. Myyyyy (talk) 19:13, 14 October 2011 (UTC)Reply

ArbCom elections are now open!

edit

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
