Help me!

edit

Please help me with constructing/formatting a sidebar on my edited article. I found the information once and cannot locate it now. Rae 3328 (talk) 16:35, 9 April 2016 (UTC)Reply

Assuming you are talking about User:Rae 3328/sandbox and that the article is about a person, you are looking for Template:Infobox person. I have placed the standard blank template text in your sandbox. The full list of parameters and what they mean can be found at the template link above. If you want more help, stop by the Teahouse, Wikipedia's live help channel, or the help desk to ask someone for assistance. Majora (talk) 17:26, 9 April 2016 (UTC)Reply

Help me!

edit

Please help me with images. Can you upload a photographic portrait that was made by a studio, in this case, by Bachrach? The photograph is owned by the heir of the subject in the picture. Does she herself own the copyright, then, as with a painted portrait?

Rae 3328 (talk) 21:21, 30 April 2016 (UTC)Reply

By default, the creator of a work - the painter or the photographer - owns the copyright. If the studio has created the photo as a work-for-hire, copyright might have been transferred to the client; that would depend on the specifics of the contract. I'd suggest asking the parties involved; they should know who owns the copyright. I assume the depicted person is no longer alive; in that case it may be possible to make use of a non-free image via fair use; see the non-free content criteria for details. Such non-free images must be uploaded to Wikipedia itself, not to the Wikimedia Commons, and for each intended use a specific rationale must be given why that use is covered by "fair use". License tagging for File:Rev T Pitcairn.png

edit

Thanks for uploading File:Rev T Pitcairn.png. You don't seem to have indicated the license status of the image. Wikipedia uses a set of image copyright tags to indicate this information.

To add a tag to the image, select the appropriate tag from this list, click on this link, then click "Edit this page" and add the tag to the image's description. If there doesn't seem to be a suitable tag, the image is probably not appropriate for use on Wikipedia. For help in choosing the correct tag, or for any other questions, leave a message on Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thank you for your cooperation. --ImageTaggingBot (talk) 16:06, 3 May 2016 (UTC)Reply

Uploading image to Sidebar box

edit

I cannot find where it shows how to upload an image to the sidebar box. The article I am working on just has an "Edit Sources" button, no "Edit." Rae 3328 (talk) 20:28, 2 October 2016 (UTC)Reply
