Speedy deletion declined: Leila Farjami
editHello Rahiminejad, and thanks for patrolling new pages! I am just letting you know that I declined the speedy deletion of Leila Farjami, a page you tagged for speedy deletion, because of the following concern: test is not promotional, claims significance. If you are interested in learning more about how speedy deletion works, I have compiled a list of helpful pages at User:SoWhy/SDA. You can of course also contact me if you have questions. Thank you. - Hi User:SoWhy. This article is considered for speedy deletion due to the lack of notability and the nature of self-promotion. The user, who created the page on Wikipedia, is the same person whom the article covers. (see: Wikipedia polices on conflict of interests) Needless to say, the content is not back by reliable independent sources. Also see: Information for "Leila Farjami" and the contributions of [|Leilafarjami].} Rahiminejad (talk) 13:18, 18 July 2018 (UTC)
- Neither of those are accepted reasons for speedy deletion. Creating a page about yourself is discouraged but not disallowed and not in itself considered promotional enough for G11 speedy deletion unless the text in clearly promotional. I suggest you read some of the pages I linked to. Feel free to ask questions of course. Regards SoWhy 13:24, 18 July 2018 (UTC)
- Thanks for the info User:SoWhy. Nonethless, I would like to nomiate the page for deletion and propose a discussion about which, if it is alright with you. Rahiminejad (talk) 13:27, 18 July 2018 (UTC)
- Go ahead. All the information you need for that can be found at WP:AFD. I have no opinion on the subject itself and a declined speedy deletion request does not prevent deletion using other venues. Regards SoWhy 13:29, 18 July 2018 (UTC)
- Could you please help me with another matter User:SoWhy? I have found another user, who has created 7 Wikipedia pages (in 7 languages) about himself. Of course, failure to disclose the conflict of interests is important; however, that is not the point here. In addition to making the efforts in Wikimedia and Wikidata, there were other attempts to expand the number of covered languages, but apparently the pages were removed (or abandoned). Although that the concern is the clear lack of notability criteria for a living person, the chief issue is vandalism. I believe this issue should concern all the related pages, otherwise, the removal of the English page and the survival of the article in other languages remains problematic. Hello. Please see Talk:Majid Adibzadeh and check all the sources. I searched and found many sources of ordinary secondary sources and academic secondary sources in newspapers, magazines, and academic journals covering this subject. For example, two articles on two academic journals from Homeira Moshirzadeh, a political scientist in Iran, who pointed to the importance of the author 's work in the studies of political science and international relations in Iran.
Or other academic articles in various fields of human sciences, which introduced the works of this author as part of the literature on the topic of their research. The search, of course , was difficult, but I found considerable resources, and I 'm sure it 's more. And I found many scholarly works and academic journals in the humanities that cited to his works.
Plus WP:SCHOLAR says: "For scholars in humanities the existing citation indices and GoogleScholar often provide inadequate and incomplete information. In these cases one can also look at how widely the person's books are held in various academic libraries"
This is true. Because of this reason I searched and found the works of this author in most Iranian academic libraries (especially human science libraries). And so far as the search was possible, I found these works in the academic libraries and notable libraries in the world. Like these:
- Harvard University
- Harvard University
- Harvard University
- Harvard University
- Princeton University
- Princeton University
- Princeton University
- University of Chicago
- University of Chicago
- University of Chicago
- New York University
- University of Michigan
- Universitäts- und Landesbibliothek Halle
- Library of Congress
- Library of Congress
- Library of Congress
- www.idref.fr
- National Library of Sweden
- Sudoc
- Open Library
Just because of you, I searched and checked with WP:N. And I came to the conclusion that this article is notable. For these reasons:
- Independent cover. (Different articles and reviews. Different newspapers, magazines and academic journals. Different writers, critics and academics.) See: WP:N
- Deep cover. (Many details on articles or reviews) See: WP:N
- Significant coverage. (Many secondary sources: ordinary and academic) See: WP:N
- Covering his thoughts and his works. See: WP:AUTHOR
- Cited in scholarly works and academic journals. See: WP:SCHOLAR
- the person's books are held in various academic libraries. See: WP:SCHOLAR
