A belated welcome!
editHere's wishing you a belated welcome to Wikipedia, Raizeresource. I see that you've already been around a while and wanted to thank you for your contributions. Though you seem to have been successful in finding your way around, you may benefit from following some of the links below, which help editors get the most out of Wikipedia:
- Introduction
- The five pillars of Wikipedia
- How to edit a page
- Help pages
- How to write a great article
Also, when you post on talk pages you should sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); that should automatically produce your username and the date after your post.
I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! If you have any questions, feel free to leave me a message on my talk page, consult Wikipedia:Questions, or place {{helpme}} on your talk page and ask your question there.
Again, welcome! JoeSperrazza (talk) 01:00, 14 September 2011 (UTC)

editWelcome to Wikipedia. Everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia. However, the username you have chosen (Raizeresource) seems to imply that you are editing on behalf of a group, company or website.
There are two issues with this:
- It is possible that you have a conflict of interest. In keeping with Wikipedia's neutral point of view policy, you must exercise great caution when editing on topics related to your organization or adding links to its website.
- Your account cannot represent a group of people. You may wish to create a new account with a username that represents only you. Alternatively, you may consider changing your username to avoid giving the impression that your personal account is being used for promotional purposes.
Regardless of whether you change your name or create a new account, you are not exempted from the guidelines concerning editing where you have a conflict of interest. For information on how to contribute to Wikipedia when you have a conflict of interest, please see our frequently asked questions for organizations. The article in question is Jason Raize. Thank you. Thanks for your feedback. I've already addressed this issue on the External Links noticeboard and been advised that my website is acceptable as an external link: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:External_links/Noticeboard#Jason_Raize_external_link. In summary:
- I originally posted the link so that people would have a place to go to find more information - directly from press releases, press clippings, interviews, and other credited sources - about Jason Raize's life and career beyond the basic information in his WP article and the articles about his suicide that populate most web searches for his name. I'm not in competition with anyone; there are no active websites about Jason at this time.
- The original WP article in 2006 was taken verbatim from an older version of my website without my knowledge or consent. I'm not seeking to address a copyright violation but do object to being told that my site is not reliable or neutral when it's still the source for almost the entire WP article. I've also spent a lot of time updating the WP article to cite my original sources in order to make the article more credible.
- I was advised on the EL noticeboard that 1) my site could not be listed in both the reference section and the EL section, and 2) my site was okay as an external link but NOT in the reference section unless possibly as deep links to online copies of my original sources. As such, I updated all references to cite my original sources rather than my site (even as deep links), and added the site again as an external link.
As I've stated, my sole goal is to ensure that people have reliable information about Jason Raize's life and career. Now that I've added references to the article, I believe it to be a reliable concise biography of Jason Raize. Adding the external link to the only website about him only gives people an external site to visit should they wish for more information. Thank you. - The above message was not about the link itself, but your username—we don't allow usernames that represent websites, so you will need to get yours changed, otherwise this account may be blocked and you'll be directed to create a new one.
