People are putting missinformation that sodhis are arora. Now,talking about Jatts i have already given my statementa about it.Mainly, castes are made according to one's occupation . Farmers were known as Jatts. Sodhis are traders, businessmen. Now ,Sodhis do farming and Jatt are engaged in business too. In malwa region ,Sodhis are also known as Jatt-Jamindar. I think we need to fall light on this side too. This is the main objective that i keep on changing . RamanDosanjh (talk) 03:54, 13 May 2021 (UTC)
There are many Brahmin families working in farms, running estates and businesses as well. Not all people engaged in farming are Jatt. Heredeterily, people who are engaged in "agriculture, cattle-rearing and trade" are categorized as Vaishyas by Kautilya. Please read the following source: Boesche, Roger (2017). Kautilya: The First Great Political Realist. India: Harper Collins. p. 24. ISBN 978-0-73910-607-5. The idea is that Sodhi, as a clan, belongs to the Khatri group. Kindly also refer to the Bachittar Natak, attributed to Guru Gobind Singh. talk
Many Arora and Khatri surname overlap. As you can see, https://khatrisamaj.blogspot.com/2010/07/962-7.html?m=1 - Sodhi is counted as a branch of Aroda/Arora by a nationally acclaimed Khatri Astrologer Sangeeta Puri for last 10 years on her blog.
Farming is not a Kshatriya Job. Trading is not a Kshatriya job either./ Cattle-rearing, plus the former two are Vaishya's jobs. Sodhi is a Suryavanshi Clan. No caste is perfect, Sir. According to the Puranas, all Suryavanshis, including Maharan Pratap and Guru Govind Singh, Raja Janak and Raja Rama belong to Kashyap Rishi Lineage.

I am not introducing any mis-information.I've already added references and sources alongwith my last edit .. All the information i have ,is already present on wikipedia. Here only am trying to add something which must be taken into consideration.Holy book "Bhagvad geeta" shlok 13 ,adhyaye 4 .There are many other Holy books which attributes the same.It says one's caste is based on ones occuption. My point is those who have indulge themselves into farming are Jatt jamindar .They are known this way. Many of my friends and realtives who are from Punjab are Sodhi and known as Jatt- Jamindar. Jatt is one who does farming. Kindly fall light on this too .Correct me, if i am wrong! RamanDosanjh (talk) 07:12, 8 June 2021 (UTC)
