Wow, what a big start to Round 3! We already have people past the 50 point mark, in one week. We can tell that this round is going to be tight, and we'll likely see every Top 8 contestant with over 500 (maybe 400) points by the end of this round. Keep working hard! – weburiedoursecretsinthegarden, iMatthew : Chat , and TheHelpfulOne

Turns out last week's newsletter was never sent out. Sorry about that! Since we already had it done, we are sending you both. This newsletter is the one for this week though. Anyway, we're seeing you guys working really hard. There are a few of you over 100 points in the first two weeks. Also, we have switched Ottava Rima from Pool D to Pool B, and Shoemaker's Holiday (who has withdrawn) from Pool B to Pool D. Scorpion0422 is more than likely to withdraw before this round ends, because he will be inactive next round. That would leave 2 contestants in Pool B. So, to make things fairly even, we have switched the two contestants. Sorry for all of the confusion!
Finally, we know it's very early, but you can already sign up for the 2010 WikiCup, here! We want to get everything ready way in advance for next year. So we opened the list up, and we'll start working things out in September/October, most likely. Information is all on the page, and you may leave any questions on the talk page. So go sign up before your favorite flag is taken! 'weburiedoursecretsinthegarden, iMatthew : Chat , and TheHelpfulOne

Looks like I'm a few hours ahead of you :) I was just being very safe—I saw what happened with automated scripts and date delinking and don't want to go unilaterally putting my preference on all articles especially seeing as the previous version was MOS compliant. I'll try and get round to commenting on those two candidacies soon, though it might not be tonight. Rambo's Revenge(talk)18:19, 21 June 2009 (UTC)
No worries. I think that particular script works quite well, at least on reformatting dates. MOS seems to state that, as long as format of dates in references are consistent with each other, and as long as format of dates within the main article are consistent with each other (and not necessarily the same as those in references), we have a winner. The script seems to correctly unify formats throughout. Take it easy. The Rambling Man (talk) 18:31, 21 June 2009 (UTC)

On June 26, 2009, Did you know? was updated with a fact from the article Marion Coakes, which you created or substantially expanded. If you know of another interesting fact from a recently created article, then please suggest it on the Did you know? talk page.
I've done your comments, but for the flag issue I notice this went down badly with F1 people, and currently the MOS actually mentions use of 3 letter abbreviations. I'll keep an eye on things however because not accepting 3 letter abbr. would have lots of potential changes, especially give how widely {{flag}} seems to talk about them.
