Duncan Tappy

edit

I'm retained by Duncan for online work, primarily his website. This has not to date included any paid Wikipedia updates, however the financial relationship means that the Connected Contributor tag is insufficient. Rand0m Merryman (talk) 15:38, 21 July 2021 (UTC)Reply

Help me!

edit

Please help me with... Duncan Tappy I have been asked by Duncan to update his page as it is woefully out of date (with the knock-on effect that Google results for him also have an out-of-date info box). I have never edited a Wikipedia article before, and am also aware that there's a potential conflict of interest in my doing it. I can see that recent attempts at editing it have been rolled back, apparently because they didn't follow the appropriate format, and don't want to do similar. I can also see there's an established project working on motorsport entries, with templates and formats in place for information such as championships. While the updates should only be factual, and race statistics are inherently neutral, any update to the main text bio (which currently only runs to 2010) carries a real risk of PoV problems. With so much potential for me to get it wrong, I'm posting here to ask advice about what my approach should be - have a go myself, ask someone to add it to their to-do list (and if so, how), some other approach? First you should formally declare your conflict of interest; please see WP:COI for more information. If Mr. Tappy is compensating you in any way(it doesn't have to be money, it can be any form of compensation), you would be required to declare as a paid editor. You are welcome to offer your suggestions for changes to the article as formal edit requests(click for instructions) on the article talk page, Talk:Duncan Tappy, detailing any changes you feel are needed. 331dot (talk) 17:55, 3 February 2021 (UTC)Reply
