Release history sections

edit

Please consider the usefulness of release history sections on a case-by-case basis instead of shoehorning WP:AFFILIATE links onto every article. What is the use of a release history section when there is one date listed in it? Everything accomplished in what you added to the release history section to Bebe (album) is already discussed elsewhere (the formats could be, but aren't really that important to say the standard "digital download, streaming" and so on), so it's been removed. Please don't re-add it. Thank you. Ss112 04:49, 30 April 2023 (UTC)Reply

Foto do Chris Martin

edit

Rangel Carregosa (talkcontribs) 16:52, 10 June 2023 (UTC)Reply

In the future, when your edit has been reverted, please discuss it with the other editor on the talk page instead of edit-warring. (You reverted three times on Chris Martin today.) Schazjmd (talk) 16:54, 10 June 2023 (UTC)Reply

Sorry for that. Next time I'll initiate a discussion. Rangel Carregosa (talk) 16:57, 10 June 2023 (UTC)Reply

Orphaned non-free image File:95 Oscars.png

edit

Thanks for uploading File:95 Oscars.png. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described in section F5 of the criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. --B-bot (talk) 17:01, 12 June 2023 (UTC)Reply

Rangel, this edit of yours was entirely unnecessary. There was already a news source talking about how Scott's webstore had the single available on CD and vinyl. There was zero need for you to link directly to the webstore, which is against WP:AFFILIATE to do. I suggest you stop adding these sorts of links to Wikipedia, which are frowned upon as they can be seen to be promoting a product, and try to find news sources for these claims in every instance. Next time I see you adding WP:AFFILIATE links your edit will be reverted outright. In 99% of cases it's not unavoidable. Please do better. Ss112 05:19, 22 July 2023 (UTC)Reply

I need your help

Hi there!

Can you help me on getting the right infobox for album cover files? It seems like I keep using the wrong one. Thanks! PopLizard (talk) 21:49, 29 August 2023 (UTC)Reply

Hello. I always upload the photos from my mobile device here (https://en.m.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Special:Upload&wpDestFile=) and use this template. Just enter all the information. :)

Category redirects

edit

Hello, Rangel Carregosa,

Category redirects are created differently than article redirects. Please look at the code on Category:Brazil Songs number-one singles so that you are familiar with how category redirects are formatted in case you need to create another one in the future. Thank you. PNG cover artworks

edit

When you upload or replace cover artworks like this, you need to start compressing them before you upload them. There is no justification for replacing a 44 KB file with a 138 KB one (regardless of the preference for Parental Advisory sticker-less versions) just because you didn't compress it (at the time I uploaded the cover, there was no clean version on Apple Music, by the way). There are tools that can do compress PNG files for you online. If you want to obsess over uploading images as you've done, then you should be doing this by now.   Hello, Rangel Carregosa. I noticed that your recent edit to 2021 Multishow Brazilian Music Award added a link to an image on an external website or on your computer, or to a file name that does not exist on Wikipedia's server. For technical and policy reasons it is not possible to use images from external sources on Wikipedia. Most images you find on the internet are copyrighted and cannot be used on Wikipedia, or their use is subject to certain restrictions. If the image meets Wikipedia's image use policy, consider uploading it to Wikipedia yourself or request that someone else upload it. See the image tutorial to learn about wiki syntax used for images. Why did you not think to leave edit summaries on such large removals as this? Please do so in future. Editors should not necessarily have to check your edits to see what you did. Thank you. Ss112 10:26, 13 February 2024 (UTC)Reply

Cut-paste move

edit

Hi, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you tried to give C, XOXO a different title by copying its content and pasting either the same content, or an edited version of it, into C,XOXO. This is known as a "cut-and-paste move", and it is undesirable because it splits the page history, which is legally required for attribution. Instead, the software used by Wikipedia has a feature that allows pages to be moved to a new title together with their edit history.

In most cases for registered users, once your account is four days old and has ten edits, you should be able to move an article yourself using the "Move" tab at the top of the page (the tab may be hidden in a dropdown menu for you). This both preserves the page history intact and automatically creates a redirect from the old title to the new. If you cannot perform a particular page move yourself this way (e.g. because a page already exists at the target title), please follow the instructions at requested moves to have it moved by someone else. Also, if there are any other pages that you moved by copying and pasting, even if it was a long time ago, please list them at Wikipedia:Requests for history merge. Short n' Sweet Tour

edit

- Damitinha (talk) 07:48, 22 June 2024 (UTC)Reply

Hello. I have noticed that you often edit without using an edit summary. Please do your best to always fill in the summary field. This helps your fellow editors use their time more productively, rather than spending it unnecessarily scrutinizing and verifying your work. Even a short summary is better than no summary, and summaries are particularly important for large, complex, or potentially controversial edits. To help yourself remember, you may wish to check the "prompt me when entering a blank edit summary" box in your preferences. Thanks! jlwoodwa (talk) 23:10, 26 June 2024 (UTC)Reply

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited 2024 Multishow Brazilian Music Award, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Anitta. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)
