editDraft of "Flash"
editHi Ray – the big problem with your draft article for "Flash" is that almost all the sources come from the group themselves or from their record company, so they aren't independent. For a song to be notable, it needs to show that it passes WP:NSONG and that someone else is discussing it in detail, apart from the group who are obviously trying to promote their own record. So the websites and the social media of the group aren't acceptable sources to demonstrate notability. Nor is the Hello Asia! website really, because one source is just announcing the song's release, and the other is an interview with the group who are promoting the song, so this fails WP:PRIMARY. You need to find sources which aren't connected to the group in any way. Richard3120 (talk) 18:50, 4 June 2021 (UTC)
- Seconded - Richard is giving good advice here. This is likely why your draft was declined too. See WP:RSMUSIC and WP:NOTRSMUSIC for some examples of the types of sources that are usable or unusable. Additionally, you may want to take a look at WP:ALLCAPS too, though that's more if a minor thing. Sergecross73 msg me 19:18, 4 June 2021 (UTC)
- Ray; have a look at WP:NSONG for notability guidelines for songs/singles. In particular, if the song has charted significantly on a recognized chart (which I believe it has) that would be a good step toward (but not guaranteeing) notability.
- Be careful to use only recognized charts; there are several meaningless ones out there, particularly in Asian music. WP:CHARTS has information that will be helpful in this regard. TJRC (talk) 20:55, 4 June 2021 (UTC)
- Thanks for the feedback and help. I appreciate it! RayJ (talk) 05:33, 9 June 2021 (UTC)

Bkissin (talk) 17:33, 5 October 2021 (UTC)Using blogs as sources on Wikipedia
editHi. I've had to remove the majority of the "Music and lyrics" section from Polygon Wave, because you based most of it on blogs. Please see WP:SPS—Wordpress, Blogspot and a .reviews domain blog are self-published sources from random Internet commentators, not published music critics, and we do not care about their opinion on Wikipedia. Using them is essentially like asking a random person on the street for their opinion on music. On Wikipedia, we care about music critics whose work has been vetted, copyedited and published by major digital and print publications per WP:RS. Please bear this in mind going forward and try to seek out better sources to use on articles you create. I know that this EP is notable as Perfume are an established electronic music group in Japan and the EP went to number two on both major charts there, but if for other topics you cannot find news publications talking about it, there's a chance it may just not be a notable topic. Thanks. Ss112 12:18, 13 October 2021 (UTC)
- Oh, sh*t. Thanks for informing me about the requirements. RayJstillhere (talk) 14:00, 13 October 2021 (UTC)
