Spamming your commercial website

edit

Please do not add inappropriate external links to Wikipedia. Wikipedia is not a mere directory of links nor should it be used for advertising or promotion. Inappropriate links include (but are not limited to) links to personal web sites, links to web sites with which you are affiliated, and links that exist to attract visitors to a web site or promote a product. See the external links guideline and spam policies for further explanations of links that are considered appropriate. If you feel the link should be added to the article, then please discuss it on the article's talk page rather than re-adding it. See the welcome page to learn more about Wikipedia. Thank you.

Please review WP:SPAM guidelines. Continually adding links to your commercial website is considered spam. Thanks. Calltech 14:29, 20 April 2007 (UTC)Reply

License tagging for Image:Proofpoint Inc. Logo.gif

edit

Thanks for uploading Image:Proofpoint Inc. Logo.gif. You don't seem to have indicated the license status of the image. Wikipedia uses a set of image copyright tags to indicate this information; to add a tag to the image, select the appropriate tag from this list, click on this link, then click "Edit this page" and add the tag to the image's description. If there doesn't seem to be a suitable tag, the image is probably not appropriate for use on Wikipedia.

For help in choosing the correct tag, or for any other questions, leave a message on Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thank you for your cooperation. --ImageTaggingBot (talk) 20:33, 9 June 2008 (UTC)Reply

I tried adding the Non-free logo tag for this image but then a very long text message appeared in the infobox at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Proofpoint%2C_Inc.

How can I tag this image without that text showing?

Thank you for uploading File:First-356-Speedster.jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the file. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their license and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. Sfan00 IMG (talk) 11:08, 28 October 2010 (UTC)Reply

Conflict of interest policy

edit

  Hello, Rbrisco. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places, or things you have written about on Wikipedia, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a COI may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic, and it is important when editing Wikipedia articles that such connections be completely transparent. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. In particular, we ask that you please:

  • avoid editing or creating articles related to you and your family, friends, school, company, club, or organization, as well as any competing companies' projects or products;
  • instead, you are encouraged to propose changes on the Talk pages of affected article(s) (see the {{request edit}} template);
  • when discussing affected articles, disclose your COI (see WP:DISCLOSE);
  • avoid linking to the Wikipedia article or to the website of your organization in other articles (see WP:SPAM);
  • exercise great caution so that you do not violate Wikipedia's content policies.

In addition, you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation (see WP:PAID).

Please take a few moments to read and review Wikipedia's policies regarding conflicts of interest, especially those pertaining to neutral point of view, sourcing and autobiographies. Thank you. --Ronz (talk) 21:25, 2 November 2016 (UTC)Reply

Undisclosed paid editing

edit

This message is coming many years too late, but it appears that many of your edits were on behalf of clients without the required disclosure of paid editing. I have identified at least articles that you have created or edited on behalf of your clients, including Proofpoint, Inc. and Omni-ID. I acknowledge that you disclosed your edits to ACI Worldwide, although not in the preferred manner.

Should you return to Wikipedia in the future, please be aware that it is mandatory to disclose all edits for which you are being paid, in accordance with Wikipedia's paid editing disclosure policy and the Wikimedia Foundation's terms of use. Failure to disclose this information can result in your account being blocked. Thank you for your cooperation. --Drm310 🍁 (talk) 15:57, 10 September 2024 (UTC)Reply
