Help has arrived
editYou wanted some help, here I am! How can I help you? You can ask your questions right here, and I will respond.--Commander Keane 07:53, 1 February 2006 (UTC)
I would like help with the layout of my user page, but more importantly I would like some help on how i can start and work on my requested things. I am looking for help in proper format, citing work, and the minimum for starting a page. Reefsurfer226 07:54, 1 February 2006 (UTC)
Also how to properly catigorize the pages. Reefsurfer226 08:13, 1 February 2006 (UTC)
- Mmm, the userpage. I think your userpage is pretty good at the moment. But FireFox has a nice userpage, and it's format is quite similar to yours. I might suggest copying the format of FireFox's userpage. If you are looking for someone to totally redesign your userpage for you, let me know and I'll find a place to request that.
- The tough stuff. Well the Manual of Style has the general info on the proper format for articles, but I recommend just looking at an example (eg today's featured article on the Main Page). Don't be too worried about the format, just write a good article and others will come along and fix up the format for you.
- Wikipedia:Citing sources has info on citing work.
- The minimum for starting a page. Well, make sure it doesn't fall into any of the criteria for speedy deleteion, if it does then it can deleted immediately. Take a look at Wikipedia:Notability to see if the article is suitable for Wikipedia. I recommend just jumping in and doing your best on an article. You could also check out Ideal stub article for inspiration. If you want somoene to check over your new article you can ask me, I'll happily do that for you.
- Wikipedia:Category has lots of info on categories. I can help you out with a specific example if you give me one.-Commander Keane 08:18, 1 February 2006 (UTC)
Wikipornia
editi was just wondering your reasoning for the deletion of the links in the wikipornia page. They are usefull in knowing what wikipornia is. I understand the deletion of the user links, they arnt real wikipornia, or are pages that describe or examples of it. -Reefsurfer226 17:44, 3 February 2006 (UTC)
- I deleted them because they're self-referential links; they're not actually related to the content of the article (if they were they're be inline) and refer rather to Wikipedia itself. See the Wikipedia:Avoid self-references guideline page, which explains it pretty well. --keepsleeping slack off! 17:54, 3 February 2006 (UTC)

recent block
editThe recent block wasn't a block of your username, rather it was a block of the IP address due to anonymous IP vandalism. Because of the way Wikipedia software works, a block on an IP address causes an autoblock that affects even registered users who use that same IP address. Autoblocks are encountered by some users more than others... for instance, AOL users, high school or university users, users in some countries... because those users share the same IP address with other users, who may be vandals. Unfortunately, there's no way to turn off autoblocks. -- Curps 23:24, 14 March 2006 (UTC)

Marijuana Wiki
editHi there,
I see that you are a pro-Cannabis Wikipedian so I hope this will be of some interest to you.
I've started a Marijuana wiki (aka The Sticky Wiki) which I think you might be interested in. I'm hoping you can help me get started with this project. Whereas lots of articles about weed get speedy-deleted on Wikipedia, they would be totally cool over at MarijuanaWiki. But really I want the site to be more of a marijuana community than merely an encyclopedia.
To give you an example, I want to have city guides about where to score, find pot-friendly cafes, marijuana events, and what represents a good price in that city. Etc. (You can check out the featured article: "Toronto" to see what I mean). I also want to have grow diaries and marijuana blogs. All in all, basically more communal than encyclopedic.
I am in need of admins/moderators, and people experienced with MediaWiki to help build policy, categories, and templates, etc. If you'd be interested in helping me with this project, the URL is MarijuanaWiki
Thanks for your time and consideration. Hope to see you there!
p.s. Big Lebowski is my favorite film also!
Unreferenced BLPs
editHello Reefsurfer226! Thank you for your contributions. I am a bot alerting you that 2 of the articles that you created are tagged as Unreferenced Biographies of Living Persons. The biographies of living persons policy requires that all personal or potentially controversial information be sourced. In addition, to ensure verifiability, all biographies should be based on reliable sources. If you were to bring these articles up to standards, it would greatly help us with the current 3 article backlog. Once the articles are adequately referenced, please remove the {{unreferencedBLP}} tag. Here is the list:
- Bradley Bell - Find sources: Google (books · news · scholar · free images · WP refs) · FENS · JSTOR · TWL
- Taj Burrow - Find sources: Google (books · news · scholar · free images · WP refs) · FENS · JSTOR · TWL
