Cimcor

edit

Hi Releeh, I just wanted to let you know that I took a look at your recently created article Cimcor-- It would be great if you could also add references to the related article Almathera Systems.

It's always nice to see users contributing to make Wikipedia better!Amy Z (talk) 19:45, 13 October 2011 (UTC)Reply

Promotional content in the CimTrak article

edit

  Please do not add promotional material to Wikipedia, as you did to CimTrak. While objective prose about beliefs, products or services is acceptable, Wikipedia is not intended to be a vehicle for soapboxing, advertising or promotion. Thank you. --4th-otaku (talk) 17:05, 3 January 2013 (UTC)Reply

Not sure what you consider "Promotional Content" in the CimTrak article. This was written utilizing sources that have all been referenced. Releeh (talk) 17:14, 3 January 2013 (UTC)Reply

Conflict of interest

edit

  Hello, Releeh. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about on Wikipedia, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. We ask that you:

  • avoid editing or creating articles about yourself, your family, friends, company, organization or competitors;
  • propose changes on the talk pages of affected articles (you can use the {{request edit}} template);
  • disclose your conflict of interest when discussing affected articles (see Wikipedia:Conflict of interest#How to disclose a COI);
  • avoid linking to your organization's website in other articles (see WP:Spam);
  • do your best to comply with Wikipedia's content policies.

In addition, you are required by the Wikimedia Foundation's terms of use to disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation. See Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure.

Also, editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Thank you. – Athaenara 03:10, 29 September 2019 (UTC)Reply

Blocked

edit

You have been blocked indefinitely from editing for advertising or promotion. From your contributions, this seems to be your only purpose.
If you think there are good reasons for being unblocked, please read the guide to appealing blocks, then add the following text below the block notice on your talk page: {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}.

Request reason:

The posts you noted were from nearly 10 years ago and the content was to link from a credible article on *File Integrity Monitoring*. Although I am not incredibly active on wikipedia I would still like the ability to post articles should I come across content we are missing. Please unblock me and I promise to abide by the wikipedia policies. 107.197.51.79 (talk) 01:33, 4 October 2019 (UTC)Reply

Decline reason:

Please log in to your account to make an unblock request. Yunshui  06:50, 4 October 2019 (UTC)Reply

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

Accept reason:

Unblocked per the conditions below ST47 (talk) 03:09, 13 October 2019 (UTC)Reply

@Ponyo: The're mostly in the deleted contribs, things like CimTrak (edit | talk | history | protect | delete | links | watch | logs | views) and User:Releeh/CimTrak (edit | talk | history | links | watch | logs). – Athaenara 23:56, 10 October 2019 (UTC)Reply
@Athaenara: I checked those yesterday, but they are from eight years ago. It's extremely unusual to simultaneously provide a COI warning and block an account for edits they made nearly a decade previous. -- Jezebel's Ponyobons mots 16:04, 11 October 2019 (UTC)Reply
@Ponyo: I'm not going to object if you decide to unblock in the expectation that this user will engage in editing which is beneficial to the encyclopedia. – Athaenara 16:09, 11 October 2019 (UTC)Reply
I would like to unblock if only to give them a chance to abide by COI. I'll hammer out some conditions though.-- Jezebel's Ponyobons mots 16:10, 11 October 2019 (UTC)Reply

Potential unblock

edit

Releeh, I would consider unblocking you, but it would be on the condition that you don't attempt to create or edit any articles for products, businesses or individuals wherein you have a conflict of interest. Do you agree? -- Jezebel's Ponyobons mots 20:45, 11 October 2019 (UTC)Reply

Hello Ponyo, I agree to the terms and conditions you outlined. Releeh (talk) 14:15, 12 October 2019 (UTC)Reply

I don't really understand why they were blocked in the first place, since their last action before being blocked was in January 2013. But they've agreed to the condition, and the blocking admin has given permission to do so, so I'll unblock. ST47 (talk) 03:08, 13 October 2019 (UTC)Reply

Thank you. Just to note the content I had created nearly a decade ago for CimTrak (now deleted) is no different than the content created for other applications noted on https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File_integrity_monitoring. Purpose of creating CimTrak article was to provide additional content on the File Integrity Monitoring article. That said, I will make sure not to post/edit in areas that pose a potential conflict of interest from this point forward. Releeh (talk) 18:39, 13 October 2019 (UTC)Reply
