Wealthminder

edit

I understand that Wikipedia is viewed by many people, who aren't familiar with the site's editorial guidelines and viewpoint, as a malleable promotional tool. I see that you haven't ever done anything else on the site, and that you're a named executive of the subject company of this article, and I understand that you're not happy that I marked the article for deletion as non-noteworthy and non-encyclopedic. (For what it's worth, I'm a professional in my mid-forties who used to live in northern Virginia—it may not be much, but I'm not some overseas university student who doesn't know how the American business world operates—I'm trying to bear with you!) This isn't an easily mastered portal under any circumstances, but it is assiduously devoted to keeping out public-relations-type antifactualism. I'm kindly recommending that you please take a bit of time over the weekend and read WP:ISNOT, as a first step towards understanding why this kind of article submission engenders a reflexive level of deletionism among even content-inclusive Wikipedia editors. I also ask you to spend a couple of hours just reading Wikipedia, period, about Star Wars characters or Japanese cuisine or Steely Dan songs or something amusing to you, and seeing what longstanding, useful articles LOOK like. My friend, Wealthminder looks like a PR person wrote it, and that, in Wikipedia-world, means it is not to be trusted. Wikipedia aims NOT to embrace or propagate business-speak.

As a final note, please take into account WP:POV and the notion that you're clearly a principal of this company and should at a minimum disclose your involvement on your user page.

I know Wikipedia is a significant point of departure for people online looking for information regarding all kinds of subjects, and that it's frustrating that one significant notion of the site is that those subjects shouldn't have any degree of control over their own presentation, but that's viewed as an enormous positive by the people who spend a lot of time volunteering their services on the site.

All the best in 2016. Julietdeltalima (talk) 22:25, 31 December 2015 (UTC)Reply
