License tagging for Image:Joseph Lerner.jpg

edit

Thanks for uploading Image:Joseph Lerner.jpg. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 19:07, 19 February 2007 (UTC)

Thank you for uploading Image:Teng Li.jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the image. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. mattbr30 19:52, 19 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

Unspecified source for Image:Li Wang.jpg

edit

Thanks for uploading Image:Li Wang.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, then you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, then their copyright should also be acknowledged.

As well as adding the source, please add a proper copyright licensing tag if the file doesn't have one already. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self-no-disclaimers}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Fair use, use a tag such as {{Non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 19:52, 19 February 2007 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. mattbr30 19:52, 19 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

Copyright issue with Teng Li article

edit

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. We appreciate your contributions to the Teng Li article, but for legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted.

Feel free to re-submit a new version of the article. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words.

If the external website belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must include on the external site the statement "I, (name), am the author of this article, (article name), and I release its content under the terms of the GNU Free Documentation License, Version 1.2 and later."

You might want to look at Wikipedia's policies and guidelines for more details, or ask a question here. You can also leave a message on my talk page. FreplySpang 20:21, 19 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

The articles Li Wang, Teng Ling and Mark Skazinetsky have been deleted for the same reason. Please do not copy text from other websites into Wikipedia articles. FreplySpang 20:28, 19 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

Hello Researcher88. As I clearly indicated to you above, wikipedia cannot accept copyrighted text from other web sites for legal reasons. If you continue to copy paste content from other websites I will have to report you which may get you permanently blocked from editing the encyclopedia. If you feel that the content you want to add should be allowed there is a specific process we must follow for legal reasons which you can find at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials.

If you are affiliated with some of the people, places or things you have written about in the article Joseph Lerner, you may have a conflict of interest. In keeping with Wikipedia's neutral point of view policy, edits where there is a conflict of interest, or where such a conflict might reasonably be inferred, are strongly discouraged. If you have a conflict of interest, you should avoid or exercise great caution when:

  1. editing or creating articles related to you, your organization, or its competitors, as well as projects and products they are involved with;
  2. participating in deletion discussions about articles related to your organization or its competitors; and
  3. linking to the Wikipedia article or website of your organization in other articles (see Wikipedia:Spam).

Please familiarize yourself with relevant policies and guidelines, especially those pertaining to neutral point of view, verifiability of information, and autobiographies.

Last warning

edit

This is the final warning that you are receiving regarding your disruptive edits, such as those you made to Joseph Lerner. If you vandalize Wikipedia again, you may be blocked from editing without further notice. Copyright infringement is a very serious offence and can result in legal action.4meter4 (talk) 02:25, 14 March 2010 (UTC)Reply

Let me clarify the above, that by legal action I was refering to wikipedia itself being vulnerable to being sued and not threatening Researcher88. I appologize if he mistook my words.4meter4 (talk) 02:52, 14 March 2010 (UTC)Reply

Proposed deletion of Susan salek

edit

The article Susan salek has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Non-notable individual lacking GHits and GNEWS of substance. Appears to fail WP:BIO and WP:POLITICIAN.

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{dated prod}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. ttonyb (talk) 22:37, 17 March 2010 (UTC)Reply
