editHello, RevLesley. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about in the page St Mark the Evangelist Church, Upper Hale, Farnham, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. We ask that you:
- avoid editing or creating articles about yourself, your family, friends, colleagues, company, organization or competitors;
- propose changes on the talk pages of affected articles (you can use the {{request edit}} template);
- disclose your conflict of interest when discussing affected articles (see Wikipedia:Conflict of interest#How to disclose a COI);
- avoid linking to your organization's website in other articles (see WP:Spam);
- do your best to comply with Wikipedia's content policies.
In addition, you are required by the Wikimedia Foundation's terms of use to disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation. See Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure.
Also, editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Thank you. Escape Orbit (Talk) 17:27, 12 February 2020 (UTC)
- User:RevLesley there looks to be a strong possibility that you have a conflict of interest with edits you have made. Please do not edit further until you have responded to the above request.SovalValtos (talk) 10:12, 14 February 2020 (UTC)
- Please respond to the above request before editing further. This is not the first time you have been reminded. If you do not do so you may be considered disruptive.SovalValtos (talk) 14:34, 21 February 2020 (UTC)
- Ok, sorry for my slow response - I don't often have spare time so this was my first opportunity to look at this in detail. RevLesley (talk) 20:57, 1 March 2020 (UTC)
- Thank you for responding at your convenience and before further editing. There is no pressure to edit other than at ones' own pace. You seem to have been able to follow the links and advice you have been given quicker than most! All of us have lacunae. On talk pages it is helpful to stagger replies by adding successively greater numbers of colons before each one. I have added three before your last and four before this. I look forward to seeing you edit articles other than where you have COI. Best wishes.SovalValtos (talk) 12:28, 2 March 2020 (UTC)

Conflict of Interest
editHi. Thank you for your message. I'm afraid you cannot do anything about your conflict of interest. If you are, as I suspect, the Rev Lesley Crawley, then you inevitably have a conflict of interest in editing the St Mark the Evangelist Church, Upper Hale, Farnham article. You are not a neutral party and therefore, with the best will in the world, cannot be neutral about what the article says.
You can however, manage your conflict of interest.
- Be prepared to have your edits questioned and rephrased accordingly.
- Take particular care about what you add. Are you sure your contribution's intent is not publicity or promotion?
- Declare yourself on the article talk page, or on your user page, so that there can be no question that you are concealing your conflict of interest.
- If you have anything you'd like to add, or some new reliable sources. Consider mentioning them on the talk page, and requesting some-one else adds it. I am monitoring this article now, and happy to help.
Please don't take it personally, I don't doubt your contributions are in good faith. But it is difficult to be completely neutral when you are personally involved, this is why editing anything like this on Wikipedia is discouraged. --Escape Orbit (Talk) 13:10, 14 February 2020 (UTC)
OK Thank-you I have added a conflict of interest statement. RevLesley (talk) 20:55, 1 March 2020 (UTC)
