First post!
editWoo, I beat the rush! >_>
Ah, yes. I've answered your questions at my editor review, so I'm ready for the abuse that will no doubt be forthcoming. Thanks! :) Daveydweeb (chat/review!) 10:38, 20 November 2006 (UTC)
- Hey, thanks! I like the new review format, because it really is that much easier to get through -- and thanks for taking the time to write it. :) If you offered a nom I'd accept it, but I'd probably be best to spend another couple of weeks getting right into AfD and possibly becoming a cabalist. Hmm... I'll need to think about the latter, though, because it doesn't sound easy to get into. Cheerio, Daveydweeb (chat/review!) 11:51, 20 November 2006 (UTC)
- Woah, you've done a really good job on that. Compared to this version, the Portal now contains significantly more information on the front page (presented nicely, too :) ), and I like that it places more important content where it can be quickly and easily seen by visitors. For some strange reason, I like the effort you've put into referring to other similar portals and projects, which seems to be very well done indeed. Although, green on grey... takes all kinds, I suppose. :P Daveydweeb (chat/review!) 12:14, 20 November 2006 (UTC)
- Well, I dunno, it's just that green seems like an odd choice. Black would be more traditional (and probably slightly more readable), although just switching to a darker shade would probably help. Alternatively, a dark blue could be good too, since grey goes nicely with it already -- a little like the reverse of this very talk page, if you will.
- On a totally irrelevant note, wow. I think I've just found the most polite vandal ever -- they even left a truly descriptive and helpful edit summary for us. Awesome! :) Daveydweeb (chat/review!) 12:19, 20 November 2006 (UTC)
Damnit! Now that we actually have that feature, does this mean I lose those points on the Wikipediholic test? Daveydweeb (chat/review!) 12:32, 20 November 2006 (UTC)
- No, I've finished my work on the transcript for tonight at least. I will be working on the episode 6 one, though -- if you keep working on episode 5, I'll focus on 6 to avoid clashing. I might take my laptop out to get some work done on it during the day. Anyway, bed time I guess... nighty night. :) Daveydweeb (chat/review!) 12:50, 20 November 2006 (UTC)
^ beat me to it :(
editRegarding Portal:Chemistry... I meant to write this earlier, but totally forgot! Ack! Anywho, have you considered using the hiding navframes to keep the portal more concise? I was thinking for things at the bottom, like the list of chemical elements and the categories. It will help shorten the page a touch ... see my page (bottom, the Awards section) for an example.
And re:discussion about green on grey above, I like it. Maybe it's just a girl thing ;-) — Editor at Large(speak) 12:22, 20 November 2006 (UTC)
- True about excess clicking. That's why I suggested it for the less important (or what I assumed to be less important) things that people wouldn't normally go to the portal to see. Well, congrats on all your work! You're not as pathetic at css/html/wikimarkup as you say you are :-) — Editor at Large(speak) 11:10, 21 November 2006 (UTC)

Non-something nominations
editHi, rd. I admit my portal "nominations" invitations are poorly worded. What I impled but didn't say was that a "featured something" doesn't need to be nominated, just add it. The nominations sections were meant to offer opportunities for "non-obvious" items to be added. I'll have to go back and clarify what I wrote at the other portals. editHaving searched around I found the following which might help: Wikipedia:Notability (organizations) (which is still in the making) and Ways to verify notability. Pretty much what is needed is external sources, a news report or article from a local magazine. The internet doesn't have much (16 Google hits [1]) but that's not the only source. I suppose it doesn't help if you don't live in the area but paper, books, magazines can be used as sources aswell. I found the team website (I think it is) [2] which can't be used for notability because it's self published but for a football club it's quite a comprehensive site so they might get away with it. Edit summary
editHi there; I am asking you this question here, and not on my RfA page, because I really do not want to appear combative or argumentative, which I am not being, but I do need to know. Is it usual, or expected, to affix an edit summary to a user:talk edit? Because I have just not been doing that - as a person to person communication (I know it's public) it just did not seem necessary. The RfA is going to fail anyway, but I really need to know for next time. I have come to you because your position is clear, and I cannot therefore be thought to be canvassing. Thank you.--Anthony.bradbury 14:38, 24 November 2006 (UTC)
- Thank you; your answer is indeed most helpful. I guess it is probably not appropriate to discuss an ongoing RfA, but in the event (which seems likely) of this one failing I certainly will go again in two or three months, with an enlarged wiki namespace output, and a higher edit summary and warning count! Perhaps I might hear from you again then.--Anthony.bradbury 15:18, 24 November 2006 (UTC)

- I responded over at Rfrisbie's page. :) --Fang Aili talk 15:44, 29 November 2006 (UTC)
Okay, I'm about out of layout ideas. Now you can do some of that picture adding you were bragging about! ;-) Rfrisbietalk 20:51, 1 December 2006 (UTC)
Thanks x 73
editI wasn't going to send thank-you cards, but the emotional impact of hitting WP:100 (and doing so unanimously!) changed my mind. So I appreciate your confidence in me at RFA (even if it seemed redundant to you), and hope you'll let me know if I can do anything for you in the future. Cheers! -- nae'blis 23:39, 28 November 2006 (UTC)

My RfA
editOh, the humanity!
I had my doubts about a second RfA, but even I couldn't have predicted the way it caught fire and inexorably drifted to the ground in flames, causing quite a stir on its way down. Still, it was encouraging to see the level of support and confidence. Thank you for being willing to reconsider your position, and I hope I'll still have your support the next time around. RfA thanks
editThank you for voting in my RfA, I passed. I appreciate your input. Please keep an eye on me(if you want) to see if a screw up. HighInBC (Need help? Ask me) 15:59, 29 November 2006 (UTC)
You're not e-mail enabled!
editI was going to e-mail you the link to my LiveJournal because I felt like coming out of my Wikicloset to some of my Wikifriends. But you're not enabled! If you e-mail me, I will send you the link. If you want to read someone's LJ that's mostly about video games, drinking, and boys. -- Merope 22:34, 29 November 2006 (UTC)
Stressed users list and friends list
editYou're still on the stressed users list, eh? For exam-related reasons, too... just thought I'd point it out as I figured you'd forgotten. And you know, just because Seadog starts with the "C" sound doesn't mean he goes second alphabetically :-P
Nooo!! You did the unsign!
editI hit an edit conflict on that AfD where you added an unsigned template. Now my n00bness is complete. :( — Preceding unsigned comment added by Elaragirl (talk • contribs)
Witch?
editI wish. I seem to have acquired a magic touch at XFD/RFA. Everyone agrees with me these days - which after ArbCom is definitely comforting. Once upon a time...urggh!!! See you round. Cheers, Moreschi 10:44, 30 November 2006 (UTC)
- On the earlier topic, I think the best conclusion is simply that truly great minds think alike. Thanks for the GA congrats - though it took a huge palaver to get it to that status - check out my talk, that page's talk, and the WP:GA/R. My word. Anyway, the end result is pretty decent. BLOCK THIS IP FROM EDITING (not reading)
editThis is the IP of a school and despite the countless 'last warnings' wikipedia doesen't seem to get it, you will get nothing but vandalism from this IP, anyone seriously trying to contribute to an article would do It from their home computer. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 68.93.154.151 (talk • contribs).
Banned users
editMy appologies; I thought anybody was allowed to do this, and I also believe I had good reason. However I don't make the rules here, and now that I understand them more clearly, will abide by them. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.216.188.161 (talk • contribs)
Banning / last change
editWell I can appreciate that, and thanks for setting me straight. In the case of vandalism, however, it's not so much the damaging of an article I thought merited an outright ban - it's the fact that three people were listed by name ( first and last ) and described in very inflamatory ways. That would be humiliating for the people named, maybe libel, and brings criticism to Wikipedia. I reverted the edit, but how should extreme cases like that be handled? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.216.188.161 (talk • contribs)

{{lowercase}} and {{User:1ne/title}}
editJust a heads up, {{lowercase}} does a much better title hack (e.g. iTunes) Will (Tell me, is something eluding you, Sunshine?) 17:56, 1 December 2006 (UTC)
