Your submission at Articles for creation
editI noticed your submission in Articles for creation, Wikipedia talk:Articles for creation/David Francis (author). Thanks! It will be reviewed by a volunteer soon.
Before it can be added to Wikipedia, your submission should have references. All articles on Wikipedia should have inline, numbered references after facts, showing the 'reliable source' (a newspaper, book, or website etc.) where the information can be checked, so that all information is verifiable.
Here's an example of how to add references:
He likes tea.<ref> Smith, John. "[http://foonews.com/Article42 Interview with Chzz]", Foo News, 1 April 2010. Retrieved 2011-05-22. </ref>
== References ==
{{reflist}}
That makes the references automatically display as small numbers[1] which will link to the details in the section titled == References == at the end. You can see that example in action here.
Please add references to your submission, which will be reviewed as soon as possible. See also, Wikipedia:Referencing for beginners. If you need any help, just put {{helpme}} at the end of this page, followed by a question or get into our live help chat channel at #wikipedia-en-help connect.

editHi Richhefner!
First of all, thank you very much for your article: it looks like it fills an important gap in Wikipedia's coverage :) You'll notice I made quite a few changes to your article in the process of reviewing it, and I thought I would explain these changes here as they may be helpful if you plan to help out in editing any other articles on wikipedia (which I hope you will!)
- I removed quite a lot of the information you had included about Francis's life. This is because, generally speaking, any claims that are made in a Wikipedia article need to be able to be verified by a reference that supports that claim in a reliable source. So, for example, if you give information about Francis's thesis at university, you need to provide a reference to an article in a newspaper, magazine, academic journal or something similar that has reported this information. If it hasn't been reported in a reliable source, it cannot be included on wikipedia. This policy is particularly strict when it comes to articles about living people, and you can find out more about this by looking at Wikipedia's Policy on Biographies of Living Persons.
- I removed a number of references that were actually just links to external websites. For example, when you gave information about the school that Francis attended, you linked to the webpage of the school. This link did not corroborate the claim that Francis attended that school, and therefore was not a reference. If you want to direct your reader to general information about something you mention in your article - e.g. Francis's school - you would create a "wikilink" to the Wikipedia article about whatever it is you have mentioned. You can find out more about how to to this here, but basically all you do is put a pair of square brackets - i.e. [[ ]] - around the relevant words. So if you put a pair of square brackets around David Francis (author) that would create a link to your article, like so: David Francis (author).
- Lastly, I made some formatting changes - to titles of books and so on - and you can find out more about this by reading Wikipedia's Manual of Style
