Yom Kippur War

The infobox issue has been addressed an uncertain number of times on the talk page. I recommend you to look it up before replacing several academic sources with a newspaper article and an entry making a case for a stalemate, a questionable view that is clearly disputed by the sources you removed. --Mikrobølgeovn (talk) 16:06, 25 February 2014 (UTC)

welcome to my talk page! first we are debating the right to know and no one deny that right.in order to do that we must put a credible sources from neutral point of view. but the fact is ur sources are not, there are at least 4 israeli sources out of your seven sources you put. those are written by israeli officials or israel sympathizers and of course they will not be so credible in this issue who won the war 'military'!

Chaim Herzog who is sixth president of israel

Charles S. Liebman who is Israeli author

Abraham Rabinovich who is author specialized in Jewish history

P.R. Kumaraswamy who worked in the Hebrew University of Jerusalem and Israel sympathizer as it seen in preface of his book

in addition to that all of them are not specialized in military battlefield

second, i know of course the concept of who won war but who won it military i need to think more in that issue

lets see who has military goal and who has non-miltary goal.Egypt has goal is to regain its land as many said who live in this era while israel is to keep it is security by military power and keep land this is the only way to keep its security as golda meir said

but the fact is from global security which is credible neutral defense and security website like wikipedia but specialized in security and defense and every topic it has very big list of references.

Wikipedia is all about knowledge everyone has the right to know the reality so if we mislead them. wikipedia will not be credible source anymore and its absence will be better than its presence

at the end israel didnt won the war military they failed to keep security by power thus both sides go to peace table and signed peace treaty

Hi again,

The peace treaty was not only a result of the 1973 war. Several other variables, including Carter's plans to solve the entire ME conflict in cooperation with the Soviets (which Egypt strongly opposed) was also a main factor that gave the two parties a common interest. The peace treaty happened more than 6 years later, and there was initially very approach between the two sides.

Militarily speaking, there is relative consensus in Western academia that Israel won by military means, and while Egypt may have achieved its political aim of starting a diplomatic process leading to a peaceful return of the Sinai, the war did bring Israel closer to Cairo and Damascus than in 1967 and led to the incirclement of the Egyptian Third Army.

But let's discuss this at the talk page of the article, as more users might be interested in this.
