Thank you for translating this article! I just found your translation when checking on the status of some pages at the translation service page. It would be great if you could come to that page, and next time you translate an article, mark it as done on that page. Oh, and dabout the article: I looked around a bit on the web, and found no reason to doubt the truth of what is said. Of course, proof would be better than no reason to doubt, but it looks like a decent stub now. Thanks again, and happy editing! Kusma (討論) 22:53, 21 February 2006 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for uploading Image:Eoicanarias.gif. However, the image may soon be deleted unless we can determine the copyright holder and copyright status. The Wikimedia Foundation is very careful about the images included in Wikipedia because of copyright law (see Wikipedia's Copyright policy).

The copyright holder is usually the creator, the creator's employer, or the last person who was transferred ownership rights. Copyright information on images is signified using copyright templates. The three basic license types on Wikipedia are open content, public domain, and fair use. Find the appropriate template in Wikipedia:Image copyright tags and place it on the image page like this: {{TemplateName}}.

Please signify the copyright information on any other images you have uploaded or will upload. Remember that images without this important information can be deleted by an administrator.

Gloria Fuertes

edit

You wrote, 'Is there a reason why you deleted Spanish poet Gloria Fuertes from the 28 July birth listing? Or is it just random (=vandalism)? Or maybe is she not important enough *for you*? (in case you actually did any research on her before deleting, which I doubt). Sorry if I sound a bit harsh but your deletion does seem vandalism to me.'

Allow me to acquaint you with the notice found on that page -- and on every Day of the Year page. The relevant portion is highlighted for your convenience:

Do not add people without Wikipedia articles to this list
Do not trust "this year in history" websites for accurate date information
Do not link multiple occurrences of the same year, just link the first occurrence.

In future, also, please do not use words like 'vandalism' falsely, as this is considered uncivil. --CalendarWatcher 13:23, 24 November 2006 (UTC)Reply

Actually, I did create a stub on Gloria Fuertes also last night (just a few words, a poet stub category and a link to the Spanish wikipedia) - which also has been deleted, to my astonishment. It's not even in "my contributions" page, so I don't know how to track it and see who deleted it. --RiseRover|talk 15:01, 24 November 2006 (UTC)Reply
It's right there in the deletion log, a link for which is available on the page you get when you click Gloria Fuertes. And from the looks of it, it was but a single sentence, deleted under CSD "empty" guideline ('It is a very short article providing little or no context (CSD A1), contains no content whatsoever (CSD A3), consists only of links elsewhere (CSD A3) or a rephrasing of the title (CSD A3)'), though it also qualified under the {{db-bio}} tag ('It is an article about a person, group of people, band, club, company or website that does not assert the importance or significance of the subject. (CSD A7)'). --CalendarWatcher 16:23, 24 November 2006 (UTC)Reply
Thanks for finding that out! Unfortunately I wouldn't have had much time to go on with it anyway, maybe I'll be able to give it more time later --RiseRover|talk 17:55, 11 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

Notability of Miguel Ángel Fernández Ordóñez

edit

A tag has been placed on Miguel Ángel Fernández Ordóñez, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article seems to be about a person, group of people, band, club, company, or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable, that is, why an article about that subject should be included in Wikipedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not assert notability may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, and if you can indicate why the subject of this article is notable, you may contest the tagging. To do this, add {{hangon}} on the top of the page (below the existing db tag) and leave a note on the article's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm its subject's notability under the guidelines.

For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. AJR | Talk 22:54, 26 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

Oh wow. So is he not notable? He's the current governor of the Bank of Spain. So its the fact that some people haven't heard about him what makes him not notable, I guess. *rolleyes* --RiseRover|talk 07:46, 27 February 2007 (UTC)Reply
The following message was left on your userpage
You deleted my article on MA Fernández Ordóñez saying he's not notable. I believe he IS notable since he's the current Governor of the Bank of Spain. I don't understand why that article was even put under "speedy deletion"?!? Please comment if there's some way to revert the deletion of the article. --RiseRover|talk 07:51, 27 February 2007 (UTC)Reply
The version that I tagged for speedy deletion (I can't actually delete anything, that can only be done be administrators, in this case User:Steel359) didn't mention anything about the fact that he is Governor of the Bank of Spain, it read like a vanity article about someone with no particular claim to notability (and many such articles are created.) It was nothing to do with the fact that I hadn't heard of him before, and everything to do with the article's content at the time - if the article had said about his role as Governor, I would not have tagged it as a speedy deletion candidate, and even if I had, I doubt an administrator would have agreed with me and actually done the deletion. The new version of the article looks great to me. (For reference, there is a way of undeleting deleted content, see the undeletion policy for how to request this - basically, first contact the admin who deleted it, and if that doesn't get anywhere, you can request a deletion review.) -- AJR | Talk 00:12, 28 February 2007 (UTC)Reply
I can assure you it did mention he had been appointed to succeed Jaime Caruana as Governor. It was because he'd been appointed that I created the article! :)--RiseRover|talk 18:10, 2 March 2007 (UTC)Reply

Proposed deletion of Rodilla

edit

A proposed deletion template has been added to the article Rodilla, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process.

All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised because, even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. Orphaned non-free image (File:Niñapastori.jpg)

edit

Thanks for uploading File:Niñapastori.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of "file" pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Aspects (talk) 23:25, 18 August 2009 (UTC)Reply

Notification of automated file description generation

edit

Your upload of File:Biblioteca nacional peq.jpg or contribution to its description is noted, and thanks (even if belatedly) for your contribution. In order to help make better use of the media, an attempt has been made by an automated process to identify and add certain information to the media's description page.

This notification is placed on your talk page because a bot has identified you either as the uploader of the file, or as a contributor to its metadata. It would be appreciated if you could carefully review the information the bot added. To opt out of these notifications, please follow the instructions here. Thanks! ArbCom elections are now open!

edit

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. File permission problem with File:Fallenangel.jpg

edit

Thanks for uploading File:Fallenangel.jpg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file has agreed to release it under the given license.

If you are the copyright holder for this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Kelly hi! 19:01, 3 December 2015 (UTC)Reply
