Some cookies to welcome you!

Welcome to Wikipedia, Rjlipton! I am Minna Sora no Shita and have been editing Wikipedia for quite some time. Thank you for your contributions. I just wanted to say hi and welcome you to Wikipedia! If you have any questions, feel free to leave me a message on my talk page or by typing {{helpme}} at the bottom of this page. I love to help new users, so don't be afraid to leave a message! I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are some pages that you might find helpful:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Also, when you post on talk pages you should sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); that should automatically produce your username and the date after your post. If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or place {{helpme}} on your talk page and ask your question there. Again, welcome!

Hi Rjlipton

Hi Rjlipton, welcome to Wikipedia, I saw you joining in on the P versus NP article. It's great that you're here, but be aware that WP's editing practices might not be what you expect.

You probably know User:David Eppstein. You might like to let him know you are here, by leaving a message on his talk page, User talk:David Eppstein. He is an adminstrator on Wikipedia and can probably give you some high-level guidance about editing TCS articles. I hope you'll stay around even if your early experiences (like everyone's) are a bit surprising.

This account has been blocked indefinitely from editing Wikipedia because your username, Rjlipton, does not meet our username policy.

Your username is the only reason for this block. You are welcome to choose a new username (see below).

A username should not be promotional, related to a "real-world" group or organization, misleading, offensive, or disruptive. Also, usernames may not end in the word "bot" unless the account is an approved bot account.

You are encouraged to choose a new account name that meets our policy guidelines. Alternatively, if you have already made edits and you wish to keep your existing contributions under a new name, then you may request a change in username by:

  1. Adding {{unblock-un|your new username here}} on your user talk page. You should be able to do this even though you are blocked, as you can usually still edit your own talk page. If not, you may wish to contact the blocking administrator by clicking on "E-mail this user" on their talk page.
  2. At an administrator's discretion, you may be unblocked for 24 hours to file a request.
  3. Please note that you may only request a name that is not already in use, so please check here for a listing of already taken names. The account is created upon acceptance, thus do not try to create the new account before making the request for a name change. For more information, please see Wikipedia:Changing username.
If you feel that you were blocked in error, you may appeal this block by adding below this notice the text {{unblock|Your reason here}}, but you should read our guide to appealing blocks first.
Specifically, the user name you chose might give readers the false impression that you are the famous computer scientist Richard J. Lipton. David Eppstein contacted him and confirmed that he is not you. JRSpriggs (talk) 17:42, 8 September 2010 (UTC)Reply
