Visual analytics

edit

I fixed your edits and added your reference. The proper link for the reference is the Patent and not the corp site. If you keep trying to put the corp site back up in that context with your WP:COI (you've identified yourself as an employee), the article "could" end up getting deleted. Thanks! I understand. Notice now identifies me as "major contributor", which I question. I simply added paragraph ending with superscript 7, because the preceding points made match nicely my methodology. And I think most visual analytics methods deal with tons of data displayed in a variety of ways. I'm not a scholar who has published papers/books, but much like a published paper (I believe) is the rationale for my inventions published in the public domain as a patent.(Actually 7). So my interest in the cited patent is equivalent, I think, to the interests of the cited authors of books. They'd like to share their thinking and sell books. I want to do that also, with my patents equivalent to books. But I doubt that any of us see Wikipedia as a selling medium, we just want to share our ideas. My intention is describing my methodology in the context of what was already in the article. I goofed by citing the corporate site, and appreciate your intervention.

I hope this is the way to respond to the notice now posted on the article. If not, please point me in the right direction.Rlistou (talk) 18:36, 15 April 2013 (UTC)Reply

It's not a badge of shame. It just means that someone needs to go through that isn't associated with Visual analytics in any way and make sure that all of the statements offer a WP:NPOV and are appropriately sourced to third-party reliable sources. I've got many projects right now I'm working on, but would be happy to look it over again in a few weeks once I'm sure that you are done adding information to the article. Someone "may" do it sooner. No worries. Technical 13 (talk) 19:07, 15 April 2013 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for your rapid response. I read about all that you do, and I am astonished. I will look again, but expect to add no material or edit what I've added. Your energy level is remarkable, clearly marking you as probably less than half my age (90 in Oct). A teacher once said to me "The sweetest sound to any man is that of his own voice", and perhaps that is what motivated me to add to the contributions of scholars. My words are not quotes from, but clearly in accord with, a reliable source - a US patent. And they do inform the viewer of a new form of visual analytics. I'll check back in a few weeks, and I do understand that others may well edit what I've written. Finally. I again say thanks for pointing out the impropriety of citing a website. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 72.192.252.90 (talk) 00:00, 17 April 2013 (UTC)Reply
