Welcome!

Hello, Rob.towers, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are a few good links for newcomers:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your name and the date. If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or place {{helpme}} on your talk page and someone will show up shortly to answer your questions. Again, welcome!

I happened to notice the changes you made to Psychologist. FYI, it's not necessary to convert from British spellings to American spellings. In fact, in some cases it's controversial to do that - see Wikipedia:Manual of style#National varieties of English for more details. FreplySpang (talk) 22:54, 30 March 2006 (UTC)Reply

Google Page rank and Bipolar Disorder

edit

We generally don't try to modify articles to give them high google page ranks. We are trying to build an encyclopedia. High google page rank should come(if it comes at all) from our merits as an encyclopedia, not from gaming search engines. JoshuaZ 03:06, 16 April 2006 (UTC)Reply

Help with Original Research

edit

Hi Rob,
I’m a professor at Boston College doing a study on medical information on Wikipedia. I’d like to ask some editors a few questions about their experience. The questions can be found at my userpage user:geraldckane/medsurvey. You are one of the first people I have contacted, I’d also appreciate any feedback about 1) the questions themselves, 2) the methods we are using, 3) other general comments you might have.
Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions.
Thank You,
geraldckane (talk) 18:52, 23 June 2008 (UTC)Reply
PS I am particularly interested in your role editing the Bipolar disorder page.

Welcome to Wikipedia. It might not have been your intention, but your recent edit removed maintenance templates from Schizophrenia. When removing maintenance templates, please be sure to either resolve the problem that the template refers to, or give a valid reason for the removal in the edit summary. If this was a mistake, don't worry, as your removal of this template has been reverted. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia, and if you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. Thank you. Do not remove dispute tags without discussion or fixing the article. Problems are listed on the talk page. Xasodfuih (talk) 07:12, 26 January 2009 (UTC)Reply

ArbCom elections are now open!

edit

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. Proposed deletion of Andy Behrman

edit

The article Andy Behrman has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

not notable enough

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. ~ GB fan 10:51, 16 February 2021 (UTC)Reply
