Draft:Crezl
You provided comments for an article I have submitted for creation (Draft:Crezl). May I ask if I have addressed the suggestion you made? How can I ensure resubmission and getting article to be approved? Thank you in advance. 141.156.180.2 (talk) 10:39, 23 July 2023 (UTC)
- User:Echohk - No. First, the headings still have bold face and other formatting in them. There is no need to use bold face in the headings. Second, you are editing logged out. Gabriel Cannon
Hello, how are you? I have a question following the comment you left on my draft. Please, how can I rename the page as "Gabriel Cannon (rapper)? Thanks a lot, Jiji62 (talk) 16:57, 2 August 2023 (UTC)
- User:JiJi72 - Is there a tab at the top of the page called 'move'? Can you Move the page from DraftGabriel Cannon to Draft:Gabriel Cannon (rapper). The feature in Wikipedia that is called Move could instead be called Rename, and this confuses some people. To rename a page, you Move it. Robert McClenon (talk) 17:19, 2 August 2023 (UTC)
Lostboy disambiguation
Hi Robert! I replied to your comment and review of the Lostboy / Peter Rycroft article on 18 June on my user talk page, in which you helpfully noted that the article required a disambiguation. The existing and quite fleshed out Lost Boys disambiguation already indicated that "Lost boy" redirects there, so I also created a "Lostboy" redirect page and added that word to the first sentence of the existing "Lost Boys" disambiguation to reflect that. Now it's all consolidated and seems pretty clear and useable. Please let me know if that works, and thank you again! Zweelie (talk) 03:14, 1 July 2023 (UTC)
- Hi Robert! Just wanted to follow up, since I think I've fulfilled your suggestion for a disambiguation. Is there anything more to do? Thank you so much for your guidance! Zweelie (talk) 01:55, 4 August 2023 (UTC)

You enquired about whether this and the other Varanus subgenus article were the correct way to do this. I compared with another of the subgenera in the genus and they look good. I adjusted a few things, but otherwise it's the right general approach. - UtherSRG (talk) 17:48, 9 August 2023 (UTC)
RfC Procedure
Now that the RfC on Acts of Peter and the Twelve has ended or is about to end, who's responsible for making the final call on how to edit the article? From my POV, the votes came down to the "in between" draft, i.e. all votes were either for "A but shorter" or "B but longer." Just Another Cringy Username (talk) 17:19, 11 August 2023 (UTC)
- User:Just Another Cringy Username - A formal closure of the RFC should be requested at Requests for Closure. Then do what the closer says. The closer will probably say "in between", but that is what formal closure is for. Robert McClenon (talk) 20:57, 11 August 2023 (UTC)

Draftifying Reviewer?
Sorry if this message appears to be a little odd, I am new to Wikipedia and this is my first time creating an article. This is a question about the draft submission, which I know you said to ask the advice of other editors at the Teahouse about, but this is just a misunderstanding about what you meant.
On my recently published article (I understand that it takes time and needs to be reviewed), you posted the comment which I am sure you have read many times:
'This page has been moved back from article space to draft space. Please read the comments by the draftifying reviewer and address them. Do not resubmit this draft without addressing the comments of the previous reviewer. If you do not understand why this article was sent back to draft space, please ask the reviewer rather than simply resubmitting.
You may ask for advice on how to improve this draft at the Teahouse or on the talk pages of any of the reviewers. (The declining reviewers may advise you to ask for advice at the Teahouse.)
If this draft is resubmitted without any improvement or with very little improvement, it will probably be rejected.'
I am not intending to question this decision, but I don't quite understand what some things mean. I am unsure who the draftifying reviewer is and where I can see their comments, for they are nowhere on the article or on that page - and I don't know how to ask the reviewer about more information. Given that you commented this on the article, I am guessing that you are the reviewer?
Thanks so much for reading this, and I hope you can clear the misunderstanding up soon - it's probably just a mistake on my part being new to Wikipedia! FlyingScotsman4472 (talk) 07:28, 15 August 2023 (UTC)
- User:FlyingScotsman4472 - This actually is a good question that isn't obvious. You didn't say what the draft was, but I see that it was Draft:Peter's Railway (book series). The history of that draft shows that you created it in article space, and then User:YesI'mOnFire moved it to draft space. They said that it wasn't ready for article space, but they didn't leave a more detailed message on your talk page. So ask User:YesI'mOnFire what needs to be done to improve it. Answer to your ANI question
Hi! It closed before I could answer you. I wasn't sure if your prior should have been read as "we don't do early closes, oops, someone did" so I was explaining why I did. Is that helpful? Sorry if I misread you. Star Mississippi 11:31, 21 August 2023 (UTC)
- User:Star Mississippi - I had been mistaken in thinking that early closes were rare. Someone did, because they are occasional but they do happen. And SportingFlyer made an easy-to-make mistake in thinking that we don't do early closes at DRV for sockpuppetry, for two reasons. First, the list of four types of early closes is not exclusive. It defines four types of early closes that happen at DRV, three of which are local to DRV. Second, the fourth reason on that list is a catch-all that reasonably includes sockpuppetry. The early close reminded me that I have seen other early closes at DRV, so that are not the usual, but they are not exactly rare. And SportingFlyer mistakenly thought that the list was exclusive, Robert McClenon (talk) 18:08, 21 August 2023 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of Draft:Alexus
A tag has been placed on Draft:Alexus requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section R3 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a recently created redirect from an implausible typo or misnomer, or other unlikely search term.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Norman Brigade, NPOV and COI
Hey Robert. So the other day I was trying to update information on some of the groups fighting in the International Legion of Territorial Defense of Ukraine. Some of the articles are held together with facebook sources or sources that date back to March/April of last year. I found an article in Canada's National Post from May 2022 about internal strife within the Norman Brigade, one of two Canadian groups fighting in the area. I attempted to incorporate the source into the prose of the article but found most of the content that was critical of the group deleted by an SPA.
I am not really looking to wade into the waters of POV editing around the ongoing conflict in Ukraine, much less to be accused as such. I just need another pair of eyes on this. One, in looking at Diff 1 (my original) and Diff 2, do you see anything that would violate NPOV? Also, keep your eye on the other user in question here. Might be some ownership concerns. User has already been warned of COI on their talk page by Tacyarg, but nearly all their edits are on this article or information related to the Brigade. Would love some guidance. Other than that, I'm going to drop it and wish Ukraine the best of luck. Bkissin (talk) 20:36, 31 August 2023 (UTC)

Rejected submission of Joshua Dufek
Can you explain why the AFC of Draft:Joshua Dufek wasn't accepted because to me it seems like the article is both properly sourced and also notable since he is now a competitor in the 2023 FIA Formula 3 Championship. Formula Downforce (talk) 18:41, 1 September 2023 (UTC)
- User:Formula Downforce - I rejected the draft because articles on the subject have already been deleted three times.
What I am willing to do now is to revert my rejection and change it to a decline, and request a copy of the last deleted article for comparison to see whether the draft is substantially different from the last deleted draft. Two copies of the article on Joshua Dufek were created, in article space and in draft space. Creating two copies of an article in article space and in draft space is not necessary or useful, and appears to be an effort to game the system. I am willing to request a copy of the previously deleted article to compare against the rejected draft. I have in the past requested that submitters of previously deleted articles go to Deletion Review. I will ask at Village Pump what they think the next steps should be. Hello, Robert,
It looks like this is a leftover page from a page move. Could you move it to the proper location or tag it for CSD G7 deletion? Thank you. Liz Read! Talk! 00:35, 7 September 2023 (UTC)
- User:Liz - This is a slightly different form of leftover. I had moved a redirect to user space and tagged it for deletion, and it was deleted. I didn't realize that it had a user talk page associated, and neither did the deleting admin. So it is an orphaned talk page. I have tagged it for speedy deletion. You were right that it was left over from a page acceptance, and it is a different species of crud in the same genus of crud. Unlike the last two messages that you left on my talk page, this was written by a live human, rather than by Twinkle, and contained real information and a request for action. The last two said that you had deleted drafts that Twinkle thought I created six months ago. I think I must have moved them from sandboxes to draft space, and the authors then ignored them. Anyway, I've tagged it for deletion. Robert McClenon (talk) 01:49, 7 September 2023 (UTC)

Kessel Run AFC review
Hi - you approved Kessel Run for main space a few weeks ago. I put it in Wikipedia: Articles for Creation because of a Wikipedia: Conflict of Interest, otherwise I would have just put in main space. I have had it pointed out to me that I should have notified the AFC reviewer of the conflict of interest. (I'm an experienced editor, over fifteen years and a hundred articles, but only 4 with CoI, so I missed that requirement.) So I'm asking whether the notification of Conflict of Interest would have made a difference in the article review. If you believe it would have, we can put it back in Draft and have you or someone else re-review it. --GRuban (talk) 18:27, 15 September 2023 (UTC)
- User:GRuban - I probably would have reviewed the article one more time, taking maybe half an hour longer, before accepting it. The issue was neutral point of view, and it satisfies neutral point of view. I've replied at WT:Did you know and on the article talk page. Continue whatever you were doing in the DYK process, which I know very little about. Robert McClenon (talk) 23:58, 15 September 2023 (UTC)
Your opinion
I see you are active at dispute resolution noticeboards. I'm in a content dispute at Talk:Janet Protasiewicz#Removal of sourced content, and I'm not sure where to go for dispute resolution. WP:BLPN, WP:DRN, or an RfC? Thank you. Magnolia677 (talk) 19:04, 19 September 2023 (UTC)
- User:Magnolia677 - I think that we have established that you and the other editor are not about to compromise. If you come to DRN, it will go to RFC. I don't think that BLPN would be that different. So you can try either DRN or BLPN, but I think that an RFC will be needed. Robert McClenon (talk) 04:30, 20 September 2023 (UTC)
- I appreciate your advice. Thanks. Magnolia677 (talk) 10:35, 20 September 2023 (UTC)

Regarding the style guide, I really don't have much energy for discussing this, however it feels like WP:FORUMSHOPPING, it went from the Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Football/Club seasons to Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Football#Wikipedia:WikiProject Football/Club seasons (maybe my fault the first two) and then the DR board, I was more frustrated by the fact it felt like an edit-war. Over what! Just because some people don't like an alternative on the style guide? It's not a content dispute, it's a style guide dispute, so is the DR board even the right venue? I wish you luck, but I fold my hand on this for now. Regards. Govvy (talk) 12:57, 20 September 2023 (UTC)
The history of the redirect has one significant edit only, by the creator of that page: the actual creation. However, it is much brief than the draft. There is little benefit to retaining the history.
There was no discussion prior to the redirect on the mainspace article's talk page.
I have reached the conclusion that acceptance without the need for a history merge is acceptable. 🇺🇦 FiddleTimtrent FaddleTalk to me 🇺🇦 15:06, 20 September 2023 (UTC)
- Of course, I am unable to do this! 🇺🇦 FiddleTimtrent FaddleTalk to me 🇺🇦 15:07, 20 September 2023 (UTC)
- User:Timtrent - I can accept it while maintaining the history (although there is not much history). I will probably do that within 24 hours after another review. This will be done (if it is done) by a round-robin swap, moving the existing redirect into draft position with the history and pointing it at the article. Am I correct that you recommend that it be accepted? Robert McClenon (talk) 18:39, 20 September 2023 (UTC)
- I believe it to be acceptable, yes.
- I have no idea how to do a round robin swap! I have Page Mover rights, but never entered into that level of complexity. I believe there is a gadget to help? 🇺🇦 FiddleTimtrent FaddleTalk to me 🇺🇦 21:13, 20 September 2023 (UTC)
- User:Timtrent - It appears that User:Liz (thank you) accepted it for you. Robert McClenon (talk) 20:29, 21 September 2023 (UTC)
- It seems it was even more complex than that! But it worked!
- Which, if any, script do you use to Round Robin move? And what are the gotchas? 🇺🇦 FiddleTimtrent FaddleTalk to me 🇺🇦 21:22, 21 September 2023 (UTC)
- User:Timtrent - I don't know of a script. One would be a good idea. I first move the redirect, which is in article space, into a temporary file. Different editors have different ways of setting up the temporary file. I move it to my user space, but with the same name as it has. Then I accept the draft. Then I move the redirect thing from temporary space into draft space. It will ask whether I want to delete the redirect that was created by the page move (the accept), and I check yes. That is it. What are the gotchas? There is one gotcha, and that is forgetting to uncheck the box to create a redirect. In that case, I move the redirect that I didn't want into draft space, and then tag it for WP:G6. You can use {{moved}} for the purpose. That is also what can be used if the blocking redirect doesn't have significant history, and just has to be moved out of the way. That is the one gotcha. Robert McClenon (talk) 22:00, 21 September 2023 (UTC)
- That all sounds scary, and never to be done when tired! I am sure I've seen scripts suggested somewhere, but I am unsure where. If my memory returns on that I will let you know where to look. 🇺🇦 FiddleTimtrent FaddleTalk to me 🇺🇦 22:08, 21 September 2023 (UTC)

New pages patrol newsletter
Hello Robert McClenon,
Backlog update: At the time of this message, there are 11,300 articles and 15,600 redirects awaiting review. This is the highest backlog in a long time. Please help out by doing additional reviews!
October backlog elimination drive: A one-month backlog drive for October will start in one week! Barnstars will be awarded based on the number of articles and redirects patrolled. Articles will earn 4x as many points compared to redirects. You can sign up here.
PageTriage code upgrades: Upgrades to the PageTriage code, initiated by the NPP open letter in 2022 and actioned by the WMF Moderator Tools Team in 2023, are ongoing. More information can be found here. As part of this work, the Special:NewPagesFeed now has a new version in beta! The update leaves the NewPagesFeed appearance and function mostly identical to the old one, but updates the underlying code, making it easier to maintain and helping make sure the extension is not decommissioned due to maintenance issues in the future. You can try out the new Special:NewPagesFeed here - it will replace the current version soon.
Notability tip: Professors can meet WP:PROF #1 by having their academic papers be widely cited by their peers. When reviewing professor articles, it is a good idea to find their Google Scholar or Scopus profile and take a look at their h-index and number of citations. As a very rough rule of thumb, for most fields, articles on people with a h-index of twenty or more, a first-authored paper with more than a thousand citations, or multiple papers each with more than a hundred citations are likely to be kept at AfD.
Reviewing tip: If you would like like a second opinion on your reviews or simply want another new page reviewer by your side when patrolling, we recommend pair reviewing! This is where two reviewers use Discord voice chat and screen sharing to communicate with each other while reviewing the same article simultaneously. This is a great way to learn and transfer knowledge.
Reminders:
- You can access live chat with patrollers on the New Page Patrol Discord.
- Consider adding the project discussion page to your watchlist.
- To opt out of future mailings, please remove yourself here.

Feedback on Moreland School District
Hi Robert, I wanted to reach out to you to see if my answer to your question about the Draft:Moreland School District was sufficient. I have no COI related to the article about the Moreland School. I am interested in the California Historical Landmarks in Santa Clara County and wanted to include the Moreland School article because it has a landmark that was not documented yet on Wikipedia. The current link points only to San Jose, California. Please let me know your thoughts about the article as to avoid it being rejected again. Thank you for your time! - User:Greghenderson2006 - You have answered the question about conflict of interest. However, at this point I have seen that there is a record that your disclosures of conflict of interest have been incomplete or sloppy. I do not plan to re-review DraftLMoreland School District, but will leave it to another reviewer. Robert McClenon (talk) 18:11, 27 September 2023 (UTC)

reserves and parks in Australia
Simular to George Andrews Reserve, it seems that in Australia, they use reserve name like we use a park name, however some seem to have two names for one location, so it can be a little bit confusing, for what the article should constitute. I posted another issue at WT:Football#Broadmeadows Valley Park and John Ilhan Memorial Reserve, however that seems to have been ignored by most participants at WT:Football. I feel Green Gully Reserve which is currently at AfD, has a potential to be kept, but that feels like I am loosing that! As you posted to the deletion review, I'd thought I show you these other issues, and they really do need to be addressed correctly, I just don't think many other editors have noticed these issues. As for redirecting, I really don't understand the thought process why you would redirect a park to a club page! That's equivalent of redirecting central park to the Yankees page! :/ Anyway, I'd appreciate your thoughts to add to the other articles like this if you have time. Your draft article, Draft:Freiesleben
Hello, Robert McClenon. It has been over six months since you last edited the Articles for Creation submission or Draft page you started, "Freiesleben".
In accordance with our policy that Wikipedia is not for the indefinite hosting of material deemed unsuitable for the encyclopedia mainspace, the draft has been deleted. When you plan on working on it further and you wish to retrieve it, you can request its undeletion. An administrator will, in most cases, restore the submission so you can continue to work on it.
Thanks for your submission to Wikipedia, and happy editing. Liz Read! Talk! 15:30, 2 October 2023 (UTC)
Hello, Robert,
I was looking at the Move log and saw this random page that I think is leftover from one of your round-robin page moves. I'm not sure to which article it belongs to but thought I'd raise the question. Thank you. Liz Read! Talk! 05:35, 3 October 2023 (UTC)
- User:Liz - It was, as you say, left over from a round-robin page move. I probably didn't check the box to move the user talk page when moving the user page, but it wasn't worth keeping. It appears to be a stale warning about copyvio, and I don't think that moving it to anywhere would be useful, and so am tagging it for deletion as an orphaned subpage or as leftover junk. Robert McClenon (talk) 06:42, 3 October 2023 (UTC)
- For a change, a message that purports to be from User:Liz is actually from a human and has content (even if it is about a page that should be deleted). Robert McClenon (talk) 06:44, 3 October 2023 (UTC)
Draft:GroupM
Hi, Robert McClenon. I am sorry to bother, but I was wondering if you might be able to revisit the GroupM draft. You'll notice I've trimmed the entry significantly, especially the number of sources (which had peaked at 66), per CNMall41's request. When you declined the draft, you mentioned "buzzspeak" and referenced a previous deletion discussion, which was for a different article with unreliable sources. Before I re-submit the article for review at AfC, can you clarify if any problematic text remains? Thanks! Inkian Jason (talk) 18:24, 3 October 2023 (UTC)

I'm guessing you don't use the XFD !Voting Tool
Hi Robert. If you look at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Bright Lights and Country Music (Rick Nelson album) you will see that your nomination looks normal enough. If, though, you use the tool, you get the deletion rationale in a box at the head of the article itself. But it only grabs the first paragraph, so all we users of the tool see is your heading.
Now, this is no big deal. I always visit the discussion before offering an opinion anyway, but not everyone does, soI thought you might wish to know.
The tool is at User:Awesome Aasim/xfdvote in case you are not aware of it 🇺🇦 FiddleTimtrent FaddleTalk to me 🇺🇦 09:23, 12 October 2023 (UTC)
- I'll add that using WP:TWINKLE to create the AFD discussions takes care of this issue. - UtherSRG (talk) 12:01, 12 October 2023 (UTC)
- @UtherSRG you might think so, but Twinkle is perfectly happy to insert paragraph breaks (good for it). It's the para break that is the very minor "thing". 🇺🇦 FiddleTimtrent FaddleTalk to me 🇺🇦 13:35, 12 October 2023 (UTC)
- User:Timtrent - I will look at the tool and its documentation shortly. The statement that I do not use the tool is correct. But I don't understand what you are saying is wrong. I may be misunderstanding you, but it sounds as though the problem is with the tool rather than with my failure to use it. Can you please clarify what you are saying is wrong? Is the tool displaying my statement incorrectly? Robert McClenon (talk) 14:04, 12 October 2023 (UTC)
- Certainly, Robert. It's easiest to exlpain when you view an article which is nominated for deletion after you have installed the tool. Lety me try!
- First, you're using Twinkle correctly!
- I think what you have done (perhaps started doing recently) is to create an extra heading. If you look at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Bright Lights and Country Music (Rick Nelson album) as posted it had:
- Extra Heading
Text of the nomination - If you had omitted the extra heading I wouldn't be struggling to explain this (very small) thing.
- The Voting Tool inhales the first para of the nomination, presumably to give the user a clue of what it is about. So in this case the snapshot the tool sees is
- Extra Heading
- We might prefer that the tool user sees
- Text of the nomination
- Now this is all truly trivial, almost not worth noticing. I only mention it because I know you like making every user's life a little easier, and because I had a feeling yo might find the tool interesting 🇺🇦 FiddleTimtrent FaddleTalk to me 🇺🇦 14:17, 12 October 2023 (UTC)
- As modified by UtherSRG the extra heading is removed, and the voting tool displays the pure nomination text without the xtra paragraph. 🇺🇦 FiddleTimtrent FaddleTalk to me 🇺🇦 14:22, 12 October 2023 (UTC)
- User:UtherSRG - I also don't understand what you are saying about using Twinkle. I was using Twinkle. Is there a correct way to use Twinkle to create an AFD discussion? If so, where is it documented? I did use Twinkle to open the window to paste my nomination into. Is this a case of conflicting tools? But I think that I am using one tool, which is Twinkle. - Fair enough. I've made the one adjustment to the AFD that allows the !Voting Tool to display info better. - UtherSRG (talk) 14:10, 12 October 2023 (UTC)
- User:UtherSRG, User:Timtrent - I've made another nomination and taken out the extra heading line. You may check whether this is more compatible with the tool. See Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Miomir Đuričković. Robert McClenon (talk) 17:09, 12 October 2023 (UTC)
- Thanks, and indeed this works. - UtherSRG (talk) 18:00, 12 October 2023 (UTC)
- Cracked it! Obvs it cannot take the source analysis, nor, really, should it 🇺🇦 FiddleTimtrent FaddleTalk to me 🇺🇦 21:55, 12 October 2023 (UTC)
- User:Timtrent, User:UtherSRG - Good. Of course the tool will not deal with wikitables, whether source analysis or anything else, or with ASCII art, and it sounds as though it doesn't display the other !votes, or any civil or uncivil back-and-forth. - Solely the first para of the nomination. 🇺🇦 FiddleTimtrent FaddleTalk to me 🇺🇦 06:56, 13 October 2023 (UTC)

Draft
Hi @Robert McClenon I noticed you helped organize the Frank (company) draft I recently submitted. Thank you so much! I also have a draft for general catalyst out there. Would you be willing to give it a look? Thanks! Justwatchmee (talk) 14:43, 13 October 2023 (UTC)
