ABC News/Surveillance: Martin immediately prior to shooting, Zimmerman wounds, Father says voice not son's

edit

This video from ABC News, on Yahoo, viewed at 1100, 18 Friday May 2012, shows Travon Martin in a 7-Eleven immediately prior to the shooting, buying Skittles and ice tea. The video confirms that Martin is tall, but does not include the shot at the door entrance showing the height markings. It also shows the wounds on the back of George Zimmerman's head, and reports that in a private interview, the father of Trayvon Martin, Tracy Martin, said that the screams heard did not sound like those of his son. The video does pan across some stylized paperwork from a photo of Zimmerman to a photo of a sympathetically much younger Trayvon Martin.

This video says Martin was at a 7-Eleven. According to Google Maps the closest convenience store is ~1.5 miles away from 111Retreat View Circle where Zimmerman initially called, though the 7-Eleven is further away. This may or may not be of consequence depending where Martin resided in Sanford, or where his car was, but it is additional information.

Please do not add commentary or your own personal analysis to Wikipedia articles, as you did to Billie Lee Turner II. Doing so violates Wikipedia's neutral point of view policy and breaches the formal tone expected in an encyclopedia. Thank you. Someguy1221 (talk) 04:11, 11 January 2013 (UTC)Reply

Citations please

Dear Sir--I have reverted, and then subsequently had to rollback, several edits on the page Euphemism that do not comport with the citations given. Changes must have a reputable source. Especially edits that on their face have an ideological perspective. If you have sources, by all means post them in a footnote so other editors can review them and readers can refer to them.ElijahBosley (talk ☞) 16:02, 18 September 2015 (UTC)Reply

PS--The edit summaries and the text both suggest a quarrel with affirmative action as a policy. Viz.: "Affirmative Action is a distorting euphemism for tokenism, backed up by dropout rates from UC Berkely." Please turn your attention to the Affirmative Action page. The Euphamism page merely says affirmative action is a commonly accepted euphemism. Questions of ideological distortion belong elsewhere.ElijahBosley (talk ☞) 16:26, 18 September 2015 (UTC)Reply
I agree with the statements above. The article is about euphemisms, not about the things described by the euphemisms. No need to use inflammatory language in that article. Also, you should learn how to cite articles in Wikipedia style. --Macrakis (talk) 17:45, 25 September 2015 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of Facebook Poems

edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Facebook Poems requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about web content, but it does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. Status and Advice

As reviewing administrator, I deleted the article. On the now deleted talk p. you said it was a test for posting poems on facebook as a school assignment. That's not an appropriate way to use Wikipedia , as a web host to test your work. If the school assignment was to do it in this fashion, please direct your instructor to Wikipedia:School and university projects--there is a great deal of help we would be glad to offer in helping select appropriate assignments.
