Andre Tippett
editNewspaper Enterprise Association Defensive Player of the Year Award Tippett was the NEA co-Defensive player of the year in 1985. At that time the AP, UPI, and NEA and Pro Football Weekly awarded NFL players the defensive player of the year award. The AP and Pro Football weekly awards still exisit, but at the time the NEA and UPI awards were recognized buy the NFL. The AP was not the only game in town. So, it is true that Tippett was the co-player of the year.12.41.183.194 (talk) 17:06, 24 January 2008 (UTC)
A tag has been placed on KFFL.com, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia per CSD A7.
Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not meet basic Wikipedia criteria may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as an appropriate article, and if you can indicate why the subject of this article is appropriate, you may contest the tagging. To do this, add {{hangon}}
on the top of the article and leave a note on the article's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm its subject's notability under the guidelines.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion. To do this, add {{hangon}}
on the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag) and leave a note on the page's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself. Bfigura (talk) 03:34, 18 October 2007 (UTC)
Hi there
editHi Rockies. A recent article you created was flagged for speedy deletion. This was done because the article didn't describe why the website was notable. I know Wikipedia's notability policy can be somewhat obtuse at first, so it might be worth reading this guide to writing your first article. (Of course, if you think the website is notable, then follow the instructions above to place a hangon tag on the article). And if you've got any questions, feel free to drop me a line on my talk page. (Or you can just type {{helpme}} somewhere on this page, and someone will stop by). Hope I haven't been too discouraging. Happy editing, --Bfigura (talk) 03:40, 18 October 2007 (UTC)
- Hi Rockies. It's not about the size of the article, it's a question of whether or not the subject of the article has been written about in reliable sources. And I agree, there are plenty of other articles out there that fail the guideline, it's just that someone hasn't gotten to them yet. But if you want some time, I'd be happy to place an under construction banner on the article for you. Best, --Bfigura (talk) 03:43, 18 October 2007 (UTC)
- Sure, I'll do that in a sec. In the meantime, I've switched the deletion method to something that will buy you 5 days. --Bfigura (talk) 03:47, 18 October 2007 (UTC)
- Ok, done. However, please note that there's still the possibility that someone might delete the page under the speedy deletion policy. Hopefully they'll be nice and wait, but if they do, don't worry about it too much. You can always build a draft of an article anywhere in you userspace. (For example, at this address: User:Rockies17/DraftofArticle). And again, any questions, feel free to ask me, or the help desk.--Bfigura (talk) 03:51, 18 October 2007 (UTC)
- Oh, and I almost forgot: here's the Wikipedia cheat sheet:

- Hi Rockies. Anyone can remove prod tags, including you. It won't bother me if you remove it. (Someone could come along and delete it, but if you're worried about that, you can keep a working draft in your user space until you get back). --Bfigura (talk) 03:30, 19 October 2007 (UTC)

Might I ask you why you reverted my edit to Lee Smith's article? I removed the "478" that you added in the infobox because the statistic is already mentioned shortly above in the infobox, and it is redundant and unnecessary to state it again when saying he is 2nd all-time in saves. edit- Sorry; I saw in an edit you made you added that image to an article, and I incorrectly assumed that you had uploaded it. I didn't bother to check the image page to see who it was. Please accept my apologies. Ksy92003(talk) 08:55, 11 November 2007 (UTC)

FYI, your adding of Category:Drugs in sport is unnecessary in most (or all) of these articles. In every case I've seen so far, the article is already in one of the doping categories which is far more specific than "Drugs in sport". In cases like that, we typically only put the article in the most specific categories available. —Wknight94 (talk) 04:29, 10 February 2008 (UTC)
- Actually, now that I look at it, I'm not sure what that category's for. Maybe it should go to WP:CFD. —Wknight94 (talk) 04:45, 10 February 2008 (UTC)
Welcome
editI did a lot of work on the article Gary Sheffield, which you spent many hours contributing. I also looked at many of your contributions in your contribution log. Your heart is in the right place, but you are making numerous mistakes. Please see Sources and point of view. You might also need to see Wikipedia:Manual of Style. Please try to avoid editorializing, nicknames, and excessive words. Try to source your edits more frequently, especially when citing something controversial or negative towards someone is said. If you have any questions, please message me on my talk page. Thank you for your efforts.User:calbear22 (talk) 23:44, 10 February 2008 (UTC)
- Thanks for the clean up on the past present tense stuff. As for the dates, doing dates either 10 Feb 2008 or February 10, 2008 works. You can leave it the way it is now without changing it back.User:calbear22 (talk) 04:35, 11 February 2008 (UTC)
