Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Shewa, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Ifat. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

Hello. I have noticed that you often edit without using an edit summary. Please do your best to always fill in the summary field. This helps your fellow editors use their time more productively, rather than spending it unnecessarily scrutinizing and verifying your work. Even a short summary is better than no summary, and summaries are particularly important for large, complex, or potentially controversial edits. Thanks! Rsk6400 (talk) 07:34, 5 March 2021 (UTC)Reply

Hi it appears recently you added un sourced content on the Mikael of Wollo page, this is additionally called Original information and does not meet Wikipedia’s standards. And for that your edits have since been reverted. You also didn’t provide a edit summary so I advise you that providing an edit summary Is good. Thanks Rashicy (talk) 08:33, 6 April 2021 (UTC)Reply

You are for some reason trying to diminish the view of literal translations of Bete Amhara which is also mentioned in the source, you have something against Solomon mentioned in the bible. I don't understand your reasoning for your edits, since it's meant to inform readers. I will be reverting them whenever you try to diminish them. Dawit S Gondaria (talk) 12:34, 15 May 2021 (UTC)Reply

I opened a new section in the Bete Amhara page talk page, lets discuss. Dawit S Gondaria (talk) 01:10, 17 May 2021 (UTC)Reply

Request reason:

I was correcting the mistake Dawit S Gondaria made in the Amhara people. From “House of Amhara” to “Bete Amhara (lit: House of Amhara)”, in which he agreed was better and accepted that proposal with Landroving Linguist on the talk page. “King Solomon of the Bible” alienates non-Christian readers who also respect him. So I decided to change it to “King Solomon.”Rogeman123 (talk) 23:53, 17 May 2021 (UTC)Reply

Decline reason:

Looking at your contributions, it is clear you were edit warring, so the block is valid. PhilKnight (talk) 07:53, 18 May 2021 (UTC)Reply

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

West Semitic

edit

No idea why you changed several Ethiopian Semitic languages to West Semitic in their lede (as usual, you keep up your disruptive habit of *not* providing edit summaries). But it is about as useful as starting the English language article as "an Indoeuropean language spoken in Western Eurasia", which is just way too broad. The English language article does not start this way, btw, but calls it West Germanic. LandLing 22:10, 12 September 2021 (UTC)Reply

I thoroughly agree with both your substantive point and your (presumed) annoyance with this continuing non-collegiate behaviour, LandLing. Neat illustration of the danger of too broad a generalisation, too!
There are other worrying aspects to this user's editing behaviour:
  1. lack of a suitable response to the block by User:Drmies
  2. the sheer scale of the disruptive behaviour and the waste of other editors' time and efforts.
  3. lack of any dialogue whatsoever, whether here (eg: https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=User_talk:Rogeman123&diff=next&oldid=1023268169 ) or on article talk pages (eg: https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Talk:Bete_Amhara&oldid=1023703751 ) - is it possible that this user does not understand simple English? If it's not ignorance of the English language and is instead just sheer laziness or contempt for other editors' efforts then it is time to consider a community ban. --01:48, 13 September 2021 (UTC) BushelCandle

Edit summaries

edit

Please use edit summaries. I just reverted an edit you made only because I have no idea why you wanted to remove the info. If you would explain in the edit summary, that would make things easier for everyone, including yourself!   ☿ Apaugasma (talk ) 11:17, 30 December 2021 (UTC)Reply

You have been blocked from editing for a period of 72 hours for edit warring. Once the block has expired, you are welcome to make useful contributions.
During a dispute, you should first try to discuss controversial changes and seek consensus. If that proves unsuccessful, you are encouraged to seek dispute resolution, and in some cases it may be appropriate to request page protection.
If you think there are good reasons for being unblocked, please read the guide to appealing blocks, then add the following text below the block notice on your talk page: {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}.  331dot (talk) 10:04, 12 February 2022 (UTC)Reply

Request reason:

My intentions were not to edit war nor vandalize the Wiki page, if anything Dawit S Gonderia was edit warring with me. I even provided a source called “Why 3 Ha’s (ሀ/ሐ/ኀ), 2 Sa’s (ሰ/ሠ), 2 A’s (አ/ዐ) and 2 Tse’s (ጸ/ፀ)?“ in the talk page but the user chose to be ignorant about it. The user has not provided a source to prove it’s claim about the spelling at all. And I have tried to explain to Dawit as clear as possible about Amharic spelling and it’s connection to Ge’ez spelling. Dawit S Gonderia should be blocked from editing for edit warring.

Decline reason:

You're blocked for edit warring, not for being wrong. What other people have done is also immaterial to your own block. Please read Wikipedia:Guide to appealing blocks before you make another unblock request. This is an open book test. NinjaRobotPirate (talk) 21:41, 12 February 2022 (UTC)Reply

You provided zero sources, i didn't respond to your offtopic silly comparisons/diversions i'm not here for conversation with you, i debunked your claim at [[1]] Dawit S Gondaria (talk) 16:15, 18 February 2022 (UTC)Reply

አልመቀህ

edit

Hi! I was reviewing Almaqah, & saw that you had added the ግዕዝ form አልመቀህ. I've been trying to find a source for that, but so far haven't been able to find anything from vocalised texts. Do you know of a source that gives the vocalised ግዕዝ form? Much thanks. Pathawi (talk) 12:29, 30 March 2023 (UTC)Reply
