Romeroni: great start! This is a huge topic, so your next step of develop a good outline that we can look at together to decide where you focus is a very important one. Addressing the impacts of cleaning product manufacture is good, though I think a less important topic than what happens to the cleaning products after they are used. What goes down the drain or remains as residue in homes, and which compounds are particularly nasty in these regards. Phosphate is certainly a good one (is there a phosphate pollution or similar wikipage to link to?), and what comes to mind quickly are nonylphenol ethoxylates, triclosan, etc. A good start would be to generate a list of the common components of cleaning agents then choose some of the top ones to focus on for discussing environmental impacts. Also, are there other wiki articles on "environmental impacts of...." to see how they formated the article? There will be many links out from your article, so may as well start looking into them now. What sections in "environmental impacts" do you envision? (human health, animal health, ???). Perhaps this is also a good place to indicate which cleaning product chemicals are in wide use in the US, but are banned in the EU?
