Notable Alumni
editHi there and welcome to Wikipedia! Unfortunately I have reverted some of your contributions, namely to Amsterdam University College and University College Utrecht. It looks like you went to a lot of effort in copying out those names, the problem is that you haven't provided a reference (so the reader has no way to confirm the information) and also you haven't shown that any of these people are, in fact, worthy of inclusion in the article. A good indicator is if any of them have their own Wikipedia article. The concept of "notable alumni" means you have to show the notability, otherwise it is just names on a page.
There are many policies covering article content, and although Wikipedia:Notability covers articles and not content, it does provide links to anything you might need at the top of the page.
PS Someone else beat me to the Utrecht article, which goes to show that this particular contribution would have been reverted regardless of who came across it. Weakopedia (talk) 11:55, 10 March 2011 (UTC)
Please sign your posts
editHello. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. You could also click on the signature button located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your username or IP address and the time you posted the comment. This information is useful because other editors will be able to tell who said what, and when. Thank you. --Orange Mike | Talk 01:33, 11 March 2011 (UTC)
Part of the problem is that you have not provided citations in any of the formats we find acceptable here. Please see WP:CITE for some hints on actually citing the published sources you use. Our general manual of style would probably also prove useful. --Orange Mike | Talk 01:35, 11 March 2011 (UTC) (UW-Milwaukee History '04)
