Mobile-friendly Current Events project

Overall Page layout

• Draft a Current Events page that will be flexible for mobile-friendly layouts.
• Work on the gutter spacing and the corresponding margins of the two content columns.

Calendar

• Draft a Calendar module that will be flexible for mobile-friendly layouts.
• Work with Mr. Stradivarius to make the calendar layout more flexible through width: 100% and margin: auto.
• Optional Additions:
  • Center-align the “<<“, Month, “>>”, day headers and day links.
  • Replace “<<“ and “>>” with proper Unicode characters: “⇦”, “⇨”
  • Increase the target area around the linking characters (day numbers and arrows).
  • Right-align the ‘More’ footnote.
• Launch the updated Calendar into production.

Sidebar

• Draft a Sidebar that will be flexible for mobile-friendly layouts.
• Shepard the RfC process for updating the sidebar layout.
• Launch the updated Sidebar into production.

Current Events launch steps

1. Remove the temporary outlines.
2. Re-add the other missing sections taken out for testing.
3. Generate an RfC for the final version.
4. Shepard the RfC process for the final version.
5. Update the page in steps: Top section; Primary content column; Sidebar column;(as necessary).
