Rowlandsrock
Hello,
I wanted to contact you to ask you to please stop removing referenced items from the Tommy Thayer page. On at least three occassions you have removed a piece about Tommy's past work history for KISS even though it is true and was referenced by an interview using Tommy's own words. There is no reason for these deletions.
Thank you.

Your edits to Tommy Thayer
editOn Talk:Tommy Thayer, I have explained the edits that I have made to the article to bring it in line with various Wikipedia policies and the Wikipedia style manual. As I have explained on the article's talk page, your edits are incorrect because :
- Wikipedia articles do not use the subject's first name - see WP:SURNAME,
- Kiss is not spelled all in capital letters - standard English capitalization in used in Wikipedia, regardless of how the band prefers to capitalize its name,
- movies and TV shows are italicized, and
- you mustn't remove properly cited material just because you don't like what it says. Thayer himself doesn't seem to be embarrassed about cleaning out Stanley's gutters - he talks about it in the interview that is cited.
Ground Zero | t 01:59, 27 October 2011 (UTC)
I appreciate your comments and better understand the Wikipedia guidelines. The article you're referencing regarding Thayer doing personal work for Simmons or Stanley doesn't pertain to Thayer working for Kiss. It's out of context and irrelevant. Do you know factually that Thayer was hired by Kiss to clean gutters and paint houses? My understanding is that that occurred prior to Thayer being hired to work for the Kiss organization. You need to be careful not to confuse the facts. Rowlandsrock (talk) 14:14, 27 October 2011 (UTC)
Also.. Blabbermouth as a reference? You've got to be kidding.. Rowlandsrock (talk) 16:17, 27 October 2011 (UTC)
The information provided about Tommy's experiences working for Paul & Gene is not only valid, but referenced by a source showing Tommy's own words about it. He had publicly talked about this prior work in an interview that was printed in full on KISS' official site. The only reason it is no longer found there is because it is an old article that KISS' site doesn't go back far enough to show. Blabbermouth simply has a transcript to the same interview readily available, so it is referenced from that spot. Either way, what difference does it make where the reference comes from? It is still Tommy's own words. The deletions are unnecessary. Continued deletion of factual and referenced material just because you don't like it is vandalism.

It does seem to me that the work you're referring to was not for Kiss per se, but for Paul and Gene. You should probably clarify that. As this work led to Thayer's role in Kiss, it seems to be relevant to me. Ground Zero | t 15:40, 30 October 2011 (UTC)
Ground Zero, that's fair. It obviously is relevant info, but if we want to further clarify to say that he was doing personal work for Stanley & Simmons instead I guess that can be done. That seems to be splitting hairs to me since Thayer discusses in that interview how he was working for the band at that time doing the book, etc. but I'll make that change (despite Rowlandsock's unnecessary and out of line attack towards me and my credibility that he posted to me on my talk page for some reason).

Re: the credibility of 'Petersspaghettiboy'
The very nature of 'Petersspaghettiboy's user name suggests that he's attempting to add derogatory context to Tommy Thayer's Wiki article. The house painting and cleaning gutters reference is obscure and irrelevant, particularly if one's writing one or two paragraphs describing Tommy's involvement with KISS. Why is so important to include? What's with the 'Petersspaghettiboy' user name? For anyone reading this, it's a reference to a (ex-KISS drummer) Peter Criss interview where he dishonestly slams Tommy, saying that he used to get him spaghetti after concerts. 'Petersspaghettiboy' is a chump fan-boy who doesn't like Tommy and is attempting to plant derogatory info in Tommy's Wiki article. Rowlandsrock (talk) 01:14, 3 November 2011 (UTC)
- So, you're saying that Thayer is saying derogatory things about himself in the interview? And you're trying to protect Thayer from himself by deleting what he said about himself? Why is it so important to delete what Thayer said about his early work for Kiss members? Ground Zero | t 01:54, 3 November 2011 (UTC)
Wikipedia is a place to gather facts. Facts have been presented (and properly referenced) here, but Rowlandsrock just doesn't like them. Thayer talked about these facts openly himself. He volunteered this information in interviews. It wasn't dragged out of him or dug up by someone else. Just because Rowlandsrock seems to be bothered by it doesn't mean it shouldn't be here.
Unlike Rowlandsrock, others here are presenting factual information. He on the other hand appears to be here to take out information he doesn't personally like (even though Tommy talked about it openly himself) & for some reason start throwing around personal insults towards those contributing here. For him to even try calling someone else a "fan-boy" when he is here deleting information because he's afraid it will make Tommy look bad is simply laughable hypocrisy. He's the one vandalizing this site and insulting others, but somehow has the nerve to call someone else a "fan-boy" as an insult. Wow.
By the way, trying to call the painting and gutter cleaning obscure is ridiculous. This interview was posted in full on KISS' official website. They had no problem posting it, Tommy had no problem talking about it, but he has a problem reading it here for some reason. Sorry, it is valid.
If Rowlandsrock wants to ask "why is it so important to include", I can simply respond with "why are you so desperate to exclude it"?
Unlike Rowlandsrock, I'm going to stick to simply contributing here and presenting factual information instead of whining and attacking others for no reason.
Petersspaghettiboy (talk) 11:11, 3 November 2011 (UTC)
I find your username to be squirrelly and suspect. Do you care to explain your user name and why you represent yourself as 'Petersspaghettiboy'? I think it's relevant to this discussion. Rowlandsrock (talk) 14:33, 5 November 2011 (UTC)
No offense, but for what possible reason would I ever have to defend my username to you? The only thing I have to explain is if my post is factual or not. It is and was properly referenced, and my user name has nothing to do with the content. It's a nice attempt at a smoke-screen from you though. So, are you saying that the exact same information wouldn't be a big deal if my screen name was something else and we wouldn't be listening to this whining from you?
Again, why are you so desperate to see this portion of Tommy's life that he willingly volunteered himself not be included here? It certainly is relevant information and others agree. It's time to just move on from this because you are getting nowhere. It's factual & valid information. Deal with it and move on.
Petersspaghettiboy (talk) 15:25, 6 November 2011 (UTC)
It's just obvious that you're a fan-boy. Why won't you explain your username? Rowlandsrock (talk) 18:01, 9 November 2011 (UTC)
Well, if you want to just keep throwing around insults and name-calling, that's up to you. However, it isn't productive at all & of course is totally unprofessional. I'll continue dealing with facts being presented. It continues to be fascinating that you will call someone else a fan-boy meanwhile here you are whining because something is printed about Tommy that you are taking as an insult........even though he discussed these things himself, so must have been insulting himself too by this twisted logic. You are desperate to see something skipped from his past, but someone else is a fan-boy? That's a riot.
Anyway, I have no desire to get into an edit war with someone who is taking personal offense to something Tommy Thayer said about himself. This entire tirade from you is simply pathetic. Others have told you that the information is valid & should be here, so why you are crying about me continues to be a mystery.
Why won't I explain my user-name? Because there is no reason for me to have to defend myself to you. Why should I? It has nothing to do with the truth of what was posted. Once again, I do indeed need to defend the validity of what was posted. I did that. End of story. I'll ask you again, if the exact same information was posted by someone with a different name would that somehow effect your hissy-fit over what is being posted?
Are you done and ready to move on yet? I'm attempting to be nice here, but you are continuing to be rude for no reason, call people names, etc.
Since you continue to ask about my user-name, maybe I'll continue to ask (since you haven't answered) why it is so important to you to see this information about Tommy not be posted. You think it is fair to ask why it should be here but that has been answered by more people than just myself. So for what reason (other than being a fan-boy yourself) are you so desperate to see this information about Tommy's past not posted?
Jeez, can we finally move on from this?
