Managing a conflict of interest

edit

  Hello, Roysover. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about on Wikipedia, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. We ask that you:

  • avoid editing or creating articles about yourself, your family, friends, colleagues, company, organization or competitors;
  • propose changes on the talk pages of affected articles (you can use the {{request edit}} template);
  • disclose your conflict of interest when discussing affected articles (see Wikipedia:Conflict of interest#How to disclose a COI);
  • avoid linking to your organization's website in other articles (see WP:Spam);
  • do your best to comply with Wikipedia's content policies.

In addition, you are required by the Wikimedia Foundation's terms of use to disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation. See Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure.

Also, editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Thank you. – Thjarkur (talk) 20:12, 2 February 2021 (UTC)Reply

Request reason:

The clock was unnecessary as I had not broken any rules and have no interest of conflict what so ever... where was this proven or discussed? I am a new editor with 2 pages on in the Hebrew version of Wikipedia, since starting here in the English version I get a strong feeling I get rejected due to the topic I choose to wrote about that discusses a well known individual in Israel that preforms on behalf of the FIDF "friends of the Israeli defense force" a topic which a lot of people find offensive as it support the Israeli Troops. the page I translated from Hebrew is worthy and was written on my own behalf. to consider banning me from editing indefinitely because i edit on topics that some people might find uncomfortable is unacceptable by any measure and would suggest that there is a malicious intent behind the entire thing. I ask that you unblock my account and clear my name. IF by mistake I had not responded to the query of me not being in a conflict with the object of my writing other then the fact that I appreciate him as an artist. and enjoy his music

Decline reason:

Procedural decline only. This unblock request has been open for more than two weeks but has not proven sufficient for any reviewing administrator to take action. You are welcome to request a new block review if you substantially reword your request. To be unblocked, you must convince the reviewing administrator(s) that

  • the block is not necessary to prevent damage or disruption to Wikipedia, or
  • the block is no longer necessary because you
    1. understand what you have been blocked for,
    2. will not continue to cause damage or disruption, and
    3. will make useful contributions instead.

Please read the guide to appealing blocks for more information. signed, Rosguill talk 05:47, 10 March 2021 (UTC)Reply

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

The block has nothing to do with this performer supporting Israeli troops. Accusations of malice don't help you. This performer is the only topic you have edited about. What other topics are you interested in editing about? Would you agree to not write about Itay Galo? 331dot (talk) 10:23, 12 February 2021 (UTC)Reply

Of course I would agree not to write another single thing about him. This was blown out of proportion, I would love to add and edit much more in Wikipedia in the fields regarding Israel, such as journalists,major events and other up and coming musicians. I would much rather start writing in my own language which is Hebrew and to translate my pages so that all of Wikipedia’s readership would have access to it in as many languages as possible. I am a great believer in Wikipedia and the scrutiny that each page is going through, I had no intentions of insulting anyone. I was just surprised by the fact that such a known figure in my country would be considered for deletion. I would appreciate a second chance to contribute to Wikipedia.
