Wikimedia training for librarians
editHello again RussellWBrown! Thanks for attending our Wikimedia training session for Librarians, and for being part of the first phase of the Scottish Library & Information Council's Wikimedia project. Our aim is to “Establish public libraries as quality content creators in the digital sphere, and to provide open access to freely usable content about Scottish culture, derived from our rich library collections", and it's great to have you on board. Now that you've learned the basics, I do encourage you to stay logged in, and have another go at editing. If you don't want to write a new article straight away, then why not try a small edit or two first, add a link, or maybe a picture?
- The project page for the Scottish Library and Information Council Wikimedia project can be found here, and there's further reading specifically for librarians here.
- To keep up to date about Wikimedia events happening throughout Scotland, to learn more about ScotWiki projects, or to publicise your own ScotWiki event or project, join the ScotWiki Mailing List!
I'll put a copy of my slides on Basecamp, however here's some links that you may find useful in the meantime. If you've got any questions, please don't hesitate to contact me!
