Welcome!
editHello, Ryanflaherty42, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions.
I noticed that one of the first articles you edited was RMG Networks, which appears to be dealing with a topic with which you may have a conflict of interest. In other words, you may find it difficult to write about that topic in a neutral and objective way, because you are, work for, or represent, the subject of that article. Your recent contributions may have already been undone for this very reason.
To reduce the chances of your contributions being undone, you might like to draft your revised article before submission, and then ask me or another editor to proofread it. See our help page on userspace drafts for more details. If the page you created has already been deleted from Wikipedia, but you want to save the content from it to use for that draft, don't hesitate to ask anyone from this list and they will copy it to your user page.
One rule we do have in connection with conflicts of interest is that accounts used by more than one person will unfortunately be blocked from editing. Wikipedia generally does not allow editors to have usernames which imply that the account belongs to a company or corporation. If you have a username like this, you should request a change of username or create a new account. (A name that identifies the user as an individual within a given organization may be OK.)
In addition, if you receive, or expect to receive, compensation for any contribution you make, you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation to comply with our terms of use and our policy on paid editing.

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your messages on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically insert your username and the date. If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or ask your question on this page and then place {{Help me}}
before the question. Again, welcome! shoy (reactions) 18:17, 1 April 2019 (UTC)
- Because you are making edits similar to those attempted earlier by an undisclosed paid editor, I have reverted your edits to RMG Networks. Please disclose your connection with them and suggest edits on the article talk page as mandated at WP:PAID. shoy (reactions) 18:19, 1 April 2019 (UTC)

edit- Just to comment it is far from impossible to get necessary change made by an editor with a conflict of interest. Make sure you are open about any conflict of interest. See WP:REQUESTEDIT and Template:Edit request. Especially at first just ask for small edits little by little to correct/update key factual information. Also note any categories that do not exist will not be accepted. Thankyou.Djm-leighpark (talk) 18:37, 1 April 2019 (UTC)
- If you keep applying an edit which replaces references with WP:BAREURLS, categories that are red links, and with an apparent conflict of interest (I've not tried to work out if you are trying to get the article deleted or to improve it or what) Then you will probably end up getting blocked. Thankyou.
Hello, I work for RMG networks and work with their CTO, CFO, and CRO. They are giving me this information to correctly update our page. This is all in house from RMG networks. I can provide proof if you would like. Much of the information that I am updating is outdated and we are wanting to update the info. Please help me so this information will stick.
Thankyou for declaring this information. This means it should be possible to work to get items updated. Apologies if this will take a little time. Thankyou.Djm-leighpark (talk) 19:48, 1 April 2019 (UTC)
Yes but every time I update the page it is getting reverted back? How do I make it to where my changes stay? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2600:1700:FCF0:88F0:35C1:41A1:BD21:CA1E (talk) 20:28, 1 April 2019 (UTC)

- I will try to help. Basically you need to understand how Wikipedia works, and very especially for people with what they call conflict of interest. Which means reading a lot of the links that are given and if necessary asking at WP:Teahouse. But I will try try to guide a little but it will not be that quick and I have other things to do as well .... The key first step is to get your COI declarations formally in place .... Djm-leighpark (talk) 21:03, 1 April 2019 (UTC)
@Ryanflaherty42 ... I have added noticed of your declaration to Talk:RMG Networks. I suggest you please create the page User:Ryanflaherty42 and add the following content to it:
{{UserboxCOI|RMG Networks}}
Only do this if you are happy to do it. Thankyou. Djm-leighpark (talk) 21:21, 1 April 2019 (UTC)
- Couple of points:
- I've adjusted the entries in for the key people in the infobox line the companies website. I was worried there was a substantial change (eg of personnel) rather than a tweak but in fact it was minor. This just gets this out of the way
- Please leave the categories as they are: I find them to be correct and attempting to introduce categories that do not exist is a real problem. If it is still felt necessary to change these at a later state I'd suggest doing that as a separate discussion.
- I'd also note the investor relations link on RMG Netowrks website seems to be broken. This has not relevance here currently.
- The claims in the lede will likely needs to be backed by independent sources at some point possibly soon.
- I'll deal with history in a short while

Suggestions for History Section update
edit- Because it is a fairly large update (and because of what looks like various problems with references) I suggest you prepare a revised history section in either your sandbox or a user page such as User:Ryanflaherty42/RMG Networks (updates).
- Please be aware I am very concerned that your previous update removed a number of references (that *may* be helpful in retention of the article) and replaced them with WP:BAREURLS. It is probably best (as a rule of thumb) you retain most of the original URLs in this section.
- If you do this I may (no promises) help a little with any bare references. If it looks like a feasible update I will suggest you submit a WP:REQUESTEDIT for a neutral editor to review this and make the change if they feel they can. If you wish as example of how this can work see Talk:Imperva (I don't know if this is the best example but I observe it seems to be working reasonably well) Djm-leighpark (talk) 22:36, 1 April 2019 (UTC)
Claim in article lede
edit- Unfortunately I will be marking a lot of these as citation needed. As a rule of thumbs anything that resembles the slightest bit of promotion needs sourcing from a reliable independent source ... that can be really difficult as a lot of sources are re-hashed press releases from a company. Thankyou. Djm-leighpark (talk) 22:36, 1 April 2019 (UTC)
Please do not edit RMG Networks article directly
editI cannot stress strongly enough how you should not update the RMG Networks page directly. If you do so I will (almost certainly) not undo it though I might add various template tags indicating problems and others may take different and more severe actions. I have prepared your suggested edit to be submitted via the WP:REQUESTEDIT .. (in fact I just notice Wikipedia:Simple conflict of interest edit request perhaps gives good advice also). To submit that request goto Talk:RMG Networks#Requested edit by COI editor 5 April 2019 and remove the pre and /pre lines around the request edit. Although I have prepared that based on the edit I reverted you will be responsible for the request edit. I would hope to assist if anything goes wrong. You many also seek independent advise at WP:Teahouse. Feel free to come back to me if anything is unclear. Thankyou. Djm-leighpark (talk) 07:35, 5 April 2019 (UTC)
Hello, How can I find someone to do it for me? Can I send you over the information to update our page? This info that is currently on the page is not correct and outdated. Can you please edit it for me if I send you the correct information?
- Goto Talk:RMG Networks#Requested edit by COI editor 5 April 2019
- edit
- remove the line

- remove the line

- publish pages
- hope for the best
Djm-leighpark (talk) 18:10, 5 April 2019 (UTC)
Okay I just did. Can you let me know if I did it correctly?
No... not qiute right. I've tried my best to fix it. I'm on a laptop that is performing badly currently. You will now have to wait for a volunteer who specialises in this area. probaly a day or two at most. we will see. thankyou. Djm-leighpark (talk) 20:11, 5 April 2019 (UTC)
OK ... try to understand why it was rejected. What I have done is to split the history section up so you can concentrate on one part at a time. divide and conquer. that should help both you and Spintendo(or whoever). If your still unsure choose one section and putit in your sandbox and I'll pre-review it. I know itseems frustrating but please do not edit the article directly. thankyou. Djm-leighpark (talk) 20:54, 5 April 2019 (UTC) (You may also request help at WP:Teahouse Djm-leighpark (talk) 21:01, 5 April 2019 (UTC))
Could you edit it to where it needs to be and get it on the page for me? I am willing to tip you for this. I am not experienced in wikipedia at all
- Following your perhaps good faith offer to pay me I have determined it is unwise for me to continue to assist you in this matter. You may seek assistance at WP:Teahouse, goto your company for assistance or there may be someone else IT literate who can help or you can take appropriate training classes. Thankyou.Djm-leighpark (talk) 06:35, 6 April 2019 (UTC)

editHello and welcome to Wikipedia. When you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion (but never when editing articles), please be sure to sign your posts. There are two ways to do this. Either:
- Add four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment, or
- With the cursor positioned at the end of your comment, click on the signature button located above the edit window.
This will automatically insert a signature with your username or IP address and the time you posted the comment. This information is necessary to allow other editors to easily see who wrote what and when.
This includes the Teahouse. David Biddulph (talk) 00:47, 8 April 2019 (UTC)
