863 Program

edit

Hi, you added in May with this edit some references. I wanted to fix the loc. cit. since this is not usable for wikipedia (e.g. a reference could be later added between them). I failed to fix it, since your reference is not really citing your statements. At least the description of the references don't fit with the link. Can you help me? mabdul 16:20, 10 August 2011 (UTC)Reply

Hello Mabdul,

thx, for your comment, indeed is the correct page for that specific reference p.107 instead of p.109. In the column of "863-Plan" we find the following items: biology (Biologie), space (Raumfahrt), IT (Informatik), new materials (neues Material), energy (Energie), laser (Laser) and other hightech-areas (und andere Hightech-Bereiche). So it's been spelled 6 fields out of 7. Actually I didn't wrote the article, I just repaired the broken links in it. It is indeed not easy to find the exact info of the areas of that plan. The book of Ke Yan (Ke is the second name in Chinese style) is also available in English, but not viewable in the net as the German edition is. In the end I found the following info on an official website:

"In March 1986, the National Hi-tech Research and Development Program (863 Program) was launched, after exhaustive examination by scientists. The Program set 20 themes in biology, spaceflight, information, laser, automation, energy, new materials and oceanography."

This list seems to be complete with the seven fields during the starting period, as oceanography later has been introduced (this I read at another source, I have to trace back). If you like add that following link, where I got the citation from (otherwise I'll do it later):
