Misuse of talk pages
editWikipedia is not a soapbox. No matter what you "think" of something, unless you can provide reliable sources to support your stance regarding the "truth" of something, then that's irrelevant. Talk page discussions should be kept focused on improving the article: and without reliable sources, you can't really improve an article. - You have no reliable sources. You have allegations that the media pushes with no expert opinions or even an investigation, you have lies, and all that is 'protected' and not allowed to be edited. - WP:RS defines what reliable sources are. If the "media" all say the same thing (and heck, if even China and India condemn the massacres), then that is what is "true" for the purposes of Wikipedia. - That's not what "reliable" means on Wikipedia. Reliable means "has a reputation for accurate fact-checking and not spreading misinformation". Most news sources (except maybe those on either extreme, which have a reputation for partisanship and sensationalism over accuracy) fit this definition. You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on Ribbon of Saint George. This means that you are repeatedly changing content back to how you think it should be although other editors disagree. Users are expected to collaborate with others, to avoid editing disruptively, and to try to reach a consensus, rather than repeatedly undoing other users' edits once it is known that there is a disagreement.
Points to note:
- Edit warring is disruptive regardless of how many reverts you have made;
- Do not edit war even if you believe you are right.
If you find yourself in an editing dispute, use the article's talk page to discuss controversial changes and work towards a version that represents consensus among editors. You can post a request for help at an appropriate noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, it may be appropriate to request temporary page protection. Hi S0793217! I noticed that you recently marked an edit as minor at Ribbon of Saint George that may not have been. "Minor edit" has a very specific definition on Wikipedia – it refers only to superficial edits that could never be the subject of a dispute, such as typo corrections or reverting obvious vandalism. Any edit that changes the meaning of an article is not a minor edit, even if it only concerns a single word. Please see Help:Minor edit for more information.
