Thank you for uploading File:TitleMaxSavannah2.jpeg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright and licensing status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can verify that it has an acceptable license status and a verifiable source. Please add this information by editing the image description page. You may refer to the image use policy to learn what files you can or cannot upload on Wikipedia. The page on copyright tags may help you to find the correct tag to use for your file. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem.

Please also check any other files you may have uploaded to make sure they are correctly tagged. Here is a list of your uploads.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. –Drilnoth (T/C) 22:23, 2 August 2011 (UTC)Reply

Non-free files in your user space

edit

Hey there SED831, thank you for your contributions. I am a bot, alerting you that non-free files are not allowed in user or talk space. I removed some files I found on User:SED831/sandbox. In the future, please refrain from adding fair-use files to your user-space drafts or your talk page.

  • See a log of files removed today here.
  • Shut off the bot here.
  • Report errors here.
  • If you have any questions, place a {{helpme}} template, along with your question, beneath this message.

Thank you, -- DASHBot (talk) 05:05, 3 August 2011 (UTC)Reply

How does requesting for non-free photos work?

edit
  1. How was my request for the TitleMax_Generic_Logo.gif not sufficient? How can I make it sufficient? (This picture is from there website and really the only accessible logo of their company on the web)
  2. How was my request for the TitleMax_Brands.png not sufficient?
  3. Are these tags not sufficient because the page in my sandbox has not been created yet?
  4. How can I request to use TitleMaxSavannah2.jpeg in the best manner?

SED831 (talk) 13:14, 3 August 2011 (UTC)Reply

Oh dear, so far you've only received messages from bots. Here at last is a human being!
This will take me a few minutes so I'll save this version, so that other helpers know I'm working on it. -- John of Reading (talk) 14:05, 3 August 2011 (UTC)Reply
Thank you for your response - would you recommend turning off bots or leaving them on? I was not sure .. thanks for your timely response!!

Also, would it be best to convert the logo to an .svg? I can do that if that is better/more accepted.

Answering your first four points:
  1. File:TitleMax_Generic_Logo.gif. Your first go at a "Fair use" statement was not in the usual form, and the ImageTaggingBot did not understand it. I see that you've since discovered how to use {{logo fur}}.
  2. Same again
  3. Yes. The later messages from DASHBot are because the article is still in your sandbox.
  4. You can't claim "fair use" for this because of point 1 at WP:NONFREE, "No free equivalent". Anyone walking by that building with a camera could take another picture. You have two options: take a picture yourself and upload it as "Entirely my own work", choosing one of the free licenses for it; or get the copyright holder to give up some of his rights in the picture using the email procedure described at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials.
BUT - and it's quite a big but, I'm afraid - your draft is not suitable as a Wikipedia article, because so far it does nothing to show that the company is notable. Wikipedia does not aim to cover every topic, and in particular it is not a directory. The inclusion criteria for companies are at Wikipedia:Notability (organizations and companies). You need to show that other people have found the company so interesting that they have written about it in newspapers, magazines, trustworthy websites, and such like.
Please have a look through the FAQ page for organisations, and then I hope things will be clearer. Feel free to ask for more help here, with a fresh {{helpme}} so that other volunteer helpers will notice it.
For your final question - SVG files are preferred for some logos, but I think there's a specialist group who like to do the conversions. Leave them as JPG for now, anyway. -- John of Reading (talk) 14:27, 3 August 2011 (UTC)Reply

- Under notable

It states that an entity must have "Significant coverage","Reliable," "Sources", "Presumed" - do you think the article in

will be sufficient if I add in a few bits of information from articles in Bloomberg and/or the Atlanta Journal Constitution?

First, the link you provided to a sandbox goes to my sandbox. You wanted to link your sandbox, which is User:SED831/sandbox. Regarding your question " a few bits of information from articles in Bloomberg and/or the Atlanta Journal Constitution" doesn't sound like enough. The current article has 20 references, but almost all are Edgar links, which add up to one, for the purpose of counting. If the Bloomberg links are merely recordings of transactions, they won't count for much. An article about the company, in either Bloomberg or AJC will count, but passing mentions won't be enough.
I'll leave this question open for a bit, in case someone wants to offer a different opinion.--SPhilbrickT 15:50, 3 August 2011 (UTC)Reply

- The articles in Bloomberg directly cover the company solely - and there are about 3 seperate articles all together - do you think this will be more sufficient?

I've looked a little closer at the article, and while you won't want to hear this, you have a very tough challenge. The style of the current article is very promotional, not at all in keeping with the desired neutral style. In its current form, I would expect I to be deletion as too promotional. I don't see an easy fix.
I only see three articles in the ajc mentioning the company, and all were passing mentions. Maybe I missed someone? Can you give me an example of a link?--SPhilbrickT 16:05, 3 August 2011 (UTC)Reply
I now urge you to abandon this project. The company filed for bankruptcy, and it isn't mentioned in the article? Do you have a connection to the company? If so, read WP:COI. --SPhilbrickT 16:12, 3 August 2011 (UTC)Reply

- I was not talking about AJC but about Bloomberg and BusinessWeek - do you think the Bloomberg articles are not good sources? The Bloomberg articles are about the bankrupcy and then the reorganization 1 year later. That's as much as I could find for articles. I can delete some statements, but I don't understand why you think it sounds promotional? Nearly every sentence has a factual citation...

You were the one that brought up the AJC, remember " if I add in a few bits of information from articles in Bloomberg and/or the Atlanta Journal Constitution?"
You aren't the first person to wonder why something is called promotional, when the informational is factual. 'Promotional" doesn't mean made-up. It means emphasizing the positive aspects while downplaying or ignoring the not so positive. Phrases such as " plans to double in size over the next five years." may be factual, but they very rarely have a place in a Wikipedia article. --SPhilbrickT 16:35, 3 August 2011 (UTC)Reply
Excuse me, but are you editing in my sandbox? You may want to actually read the articles before you cite them: The company filed for bankruptcy in 2009 and exited bankruptcy in 2010 - you quoted "filed for bankruptcy in 2010," and that is inaccurate.
Yes, it is a wiki. The date is easily corrected, I see you have already.--SPhilbrickT 17:19, 3 August 2011 (UTC)Reply
Do you think my article is sufficient now? I have removed some statements and added more references.
