A longer dash is needed here. This is a connection of a subordinate clause into the context of a sentence, not linking two syllables or linking two words together.
- Examples (of what it is not and what it is):
This is an either-or choice.
I don't need your input – I've drawn my own conclusion.
In all humility and sincerity, thanks for your input, though. 2600:1004:B156:38A:4DEE:7C62:4857:B0 (talk) 03:40, 7 March 2021 (UTC)
- Sorry for reverting your edits. Usually (not all the time), unconstuctive edits like those come from IP adresses and yours also came under "likely has problems". It's sad that theres a minority IP users that create this stereotype. Apologies again. TravelAroundOz (talk) 03:43, 7 March 2021 (UTC)
Murder of Milly Dowler
Hi, I've struck the warning you left Caged Debts as it was completely inappropriate. No way could that - by any stretch of the imagination - be considered non-constructive or a test. It seems you used an automated tool on the edit - I'm not familiar with it, but please double check your usage. Cheers, Chaheel Riens (talk) 10:48, 11 March 2021 (UTC)
- RedWarn sometimes has glitches or I must've accidentally clicked the auto warn button. Apologies. TravelAroundOz (talk) 10:51, 11 March 2021 (UTC)
Digimon Adventure (2020 TV series)
You reverted my edit when the article literally says "This section may need to be rewritten to comply with Wikipedia's quality standards, as it is overly long with formatting errors and long quotations. You can help. The talk page may contain suggestions. (March 2021)" As said, the article is overly long and with formatting errors and long quotations. I was attempting to shorten the article and rearrange the references. If you could not immediately autorevert while someone is editing an article that was requested to have assistance with shortening it, that would be great. It does feel that edit was automated tool, as comments above say. As the comment above says, please double check your usage. Non2410 (talk) 03:03, 13 March 2021 (UTC)
- Hi there, apologies for the revert. Your edit came up in Special:RecentChanges/Likely has problems. And usually, there are more bad-faith edits like these by new users so there is my reasoning. It's super annoying when the bad-faith editors ruin it for the good. TravelAroundOz (talk) 03:09, 13 March 2021 (UTC)
Please stop tagging disruptively
I've just had to undo three obviously inappropriate "vandalism reverts" by you in quick succession, and to revdelete the accompanying warnings you issued to prevent the people you inappropriately warned from seeing them and becoming confused. You're obviously enthusiastic and trying to help, but please learn what does and doesn't constitute vandalism and disruptive editing before you continue to revert and warn other editors, and be more cautious when using automated tools. I can see from the above that I'm not the only one concerned about your recent activity. Blaming the errors on whichever automated tool you're using isn't a defence; you retain responsibility for every edit made using an automated tool, just as much as if you'd typed the changes into the edit box yourself. I really don't want to end up having to block you from Wikipedia—you're obviously here to help—but every misplaced revert and warning is another editor potentially driven off Wikipedia, and we can't sit by and watch this indefinitely. ‑ Iridescent 05:06, 13 March 2021 (UTC)
(adding) I've also just removed this request by you at UAA, which is so grossly inappropriate words fail to describe it; "Niazi" is a very common name and accusing someone of Attempting to skip filter of Nazi
for using their real name is about as far from assuming good faith as one could get. ‑ Iridescent 05:10, 13 March 2021 (UTC)
- I have never heard someone who has the name Niazi. But I'll double check with my reverts from now on. TravelAroundOz (talk) 07:17, 13 March 2021 (UTC)
- In fact from now on, I'll revert the worst of the worst (as per my last revert) TravelAroundOz (talk) 07:27, 13 March 2021 (UTC)
Big things
Just as a note regarding Draft:Big things of Australia, Wikipedia's article for this already exists at Australia's big things. (Also, I'd take those warnings you're getting very seriously -- Iridescent is maybe one of the most influential admins on the site, in particular. Wikipedia and Wikivoyage have different considerations, and the 'be as quick on the draw for potential spam or vandalism as possible' attitude gets a lot more backlash and false positives on Wikipedia.) Whack! You've been whacked with a wet trout. Don't take this too seriously. Someone just wants to let you know that you did something silly. |

Speedy deletion declined: Draft talk:Stefan Milivojević
Hello SHB2000, and thanks for patrolling new pages! I am just letting you know that I declined the speedy deletion of Draft talk:Stefan Milivojević, a page you tagged for speedy deletion, because of the following concern: As a heads-up if something is in a foreign language that does not make it nonsense. This could be translated and so it does not qualify for deletion under G1. You may wish to review the Criteria for Speedy Deletion before tagging further pages. Thank you. Barkeep49 (talk) 00:31, 19 March 2021 (UTC)
- I see User:Fastily has deleted it under G2. SHB2000 (talk) 05:14, 20 March 2021 (UTC)

Latest tech news from the Wikimedia technical community. Please tell other users about these changes. Not all changes will affect you. Translations are available.
Recent changes
- There is a Wikipedia app for KaiOS phones. They don't have a touch screen so readers navigate with the phone keys. There is now a simulator so you can see what it looks like.
- The reply tool and new discussion tool are now available as the "Discussion tools" beta feature in almost all wikis except German Wikipedia.
Problems
- You will be able to read but not edit twelve wikis for a short period of time on 23 March at 06:00 (UTC). This can also affect password changes, logging in to new wikis, global renames and changing or confirming emails. This could take 30 minutes but will probably be much faster.
Changes later this week
- The new version of MediaWiki will be on test wikis and MediaWiki.org from 23 March. It will be on non-Wikipedia wikis and some Wikipedias from 24 March. It will be on all wikis from 25 March (calendar).
- Syntax highlighting colours will change to be easier to read. This will soon come to the first wikis. [1]
Future changes
- Flagged revisions will no longer have multiple tags like "tone" or "depth". It will also only have one tier. This was changed because very few wikis used these features and they make the tool difficult to maintain. [2][3]
- Gadgets and user scripts can access variables about the current page in JavaScript. In 2015 this was moved from
wg*
tomw.config
.wg*
will soon no longer work. [4]

- Development
- The dev team spent the last week prototyping a few things to learn if some things would be feasible/a good idea. Among other things we tried building a small tool to connect Senses to Items, looked into the different types of ontology issues that can be found on Wikidata and checked what using a document store for data storage would look like.
- Note: from March 29th until April 12th, Mohammed Sadat (WMDE) is not available to answer messages. If you have any requests for the development team, please ask on Contact the development team. For any emergency, you can contact Lea Lacroix (WMDE). Because of Easter holidays in Germany, the upcoming newsletter will be issued one day later, on April 6th.
You can see all open tickets related to Wikidata here. If you want to help, you can also have a look at the tasks needing a volunteer.

Latest tech news from the Wikimedia technical community. Please tell other users about these changes. Not all changes will affect you. Translations are available.
Recent changes
- Some very old web browsers don’t work well with the Wikimedia wikis. Some old code for browsers that used to be supported is being removed. This could cause issues in those browsers. [5]
- IRC recent changes feeds have been moved to a new server. Make sure all tools automatically reconnect to
irc.wikimedia.org
and not to the name of any specific server. Users should also consider switching to the more modern EventStreams. [6]
Problems
- When you move a page that many editors have on their watchlist the history can be split. It might also not be possible to move it again for a while. This is because of a job queue problem. [7]
- Some translatable pages on Meta could not be edited. This was because of a bug in the translation tool. The new MediaWiki version was delayed because of problems like this. [8][9]
Changes later this week
- The new version of MediaWiki will be on test wikis and MediaWiki.org from 30 March. It will be on non-Wikipedia wikis and some Wikipedias from 31 March. It will be on all wikis from 1 April (calendar).
