Capitalization question

Hi SMcCandlish. I notice you're quite active over at Wikipedia talk:Manual of Style/Capital letters (at least you seem to have been so recently); so, I'm wondering if you'd mind taking a look at bullet point #1 in Wikipedia talk:Manual of Style/Capital letters#Current. The discussion hasn't received any new comments in more than month so I'm trying to figure out a way to get more editors who might be interested in this type of discussion involved. -- Marchjuly (talk) 04:58, 12 February 2021 (UTC)

Thank you for taking a look at this. Do you know if there’s a way to get more editors involved in a discussion like this so as to perhaps establish a clear consensus either way. I guess WP:RFC would be one way, but I’m not sure if this needs to go that way just yet. There’s also WP:CENTRAL, but again I’m not sure whether this rises to that level just yet. I notice you are participating in WP:FRS; so, I’m wondering how that works and how do you go about requesting feedback from those users listed there. Is there a template like {{Please see}} that can be used? — Marchjuly (talk) 13:44, 14 February 2021 (UTC)
If the discussion doesn't resolve itself naturally, it might be worth an RfC. An RfC will be automatically picked up by FRS (via bot; that's how it works). Nothing manual needs to be done to list stuff for FRS. CENTRAL is only used for major discussions of site-wide importance.  — SMcCandlish ¢ 😼  21:29, 15 February 2021 (UTC)
Any ideas on how to further proceed here? Jax MN hasn't posted anything in that discussion for almost a month, but they still seem to be introducing "Terms of art" capitalization into some other fraternity and sorority articles they've been improving. I haven't gone through all their contributions, but I found at least two examples of this in addition to the original one which started the aforementioned discussion. In fairness, one of the examples is an edit made a few months prior to the start of the discussion, but the other one is from a little over a week ago which is well after it was clear that there was concern that this wasn't in accordance with MOS:INSTITUTIONS. I'm not sure if this is just being done out of habit since this is the capitalization style Jax MN might have been using for quite sometime outside of Wikipedia or whether (worst case scenario) it's a case of WP:AADP#Personal taste or WP:LISTEN; regardless of the reasons why it's being done, it's not only creating MOS inconsistencies between different articles, but also sometimes in the same article. I'm not looking to get anyone blocked since I don't think this is really being done in WP:BADFAITH, but at the same time this probably should be resolved sooner than later to avoid further cleanup. -- Marchjuly (talk) 03:16, 9 March 2021 (UTC)
