This account has been blocked indefinitely from editing Wikipedia, because it has been identified as an account used for promotion of a company or group, with a username that implies that this has been done by that company or group. See Wikipedia:Business' FAQ and Wikipedia:Conflict of interest.

This kind of activity is considered spamming and is forbidden by Wikipedia policies. In addition, the use of a username like yours violates our username policy.

You may appeal this block by adding the text {{unblock|your reason here}} below or emailing the administrator who blocked you.

Your reason should include your response to this issue and a new username you wish to adopt that does not violate our username policy (specifically, understand that accounts are for individuals, not companies or groups, and that your username should reflect this). Usernames that have already been taken are listed here.

Request reason:

Never explained how I have violated ANY rules here. I represent no 'group' or 'company', and I use my own name. There is no violation in that.

Decline reason:

Declined pending your response - please put up another unblock template to indicate your acceptance of the terms below. — Hersfold (t/a/c) 04:15, 7 January 2009 (UTC)Reply

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

But you created an article called SP Goodman that was deleted as advertising, so even if it is not strictly a business or group it is still likely a Conflict of Interest and Username Violation. Templarion (talk) 17:12, 5 January 2009 (UTC)Reply

You are correct in the your username is not a violation of our policy. The reason you were blocked was, as Templarion said, the repeated recreation of a page by the same name, which on review appears to be an autobiography. Because Wikipedia works to be neutral on all of our subjects, we try to avoid any possibility of conflicts of interest, which editors have when they write about subjects they are closely related to. This conflict can easily lead editors to add a certain bias to the article, inadvertently or otherwise, that could make the article appear skewed one way or another. In your case, your article appeared to be advertising your musical and online efforts.
Now that that has been explained to you, I would be willing to unblock you if you agree to avoid writing about yourself in the future, and to avoid other similar conflicts of interest. In reviewing the block, this does seem to be a little harsh, especially since you are editing under your own name. I'm going to leave the blocking administrator a note to see if they would agree with this; in the meantime, please comment below if you would also agree to this, and if you have any questions.
I do apologize for the confusion; Wikipedia is a complicated place, and it is often easy for new users to get ensnared in some of our rules without ever having them fully explained. I hope this has helped you understand them some, and won't discourage you from continuing to contribute here. Hersfold (t/a/c) 17:48, 5 January 2009 (UTC)Reply
Redvers has agreed that you can be unblocked, provided you understand and agree to the above conditions. Please comment below once you've read through them. Hersfold (t/a/c) 23:48, 5 January 2009 (UTC)Reply
